Dezartfox
Well after reading through Eostar's blog I thought I'd resurrect my own Bloodthirster. I can't remember when I bought him.. but he's probably had a few paintjobs and was poorly stripped at some point, and currently looks slightly purple.. Anyway, after I thought I found all the bits I noticed I had two right arms and no left.. and no crotch plate. Originally he had 2 bloodthirster axes (one is long gone) hence the 2 right arms, after looking everywhere and not finding it I decided to convert the other right arm to a left, I poorly sculpted a thumb and finger and stuck it on :D http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00857-20090824-1723.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00858-20090824-1723.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00859-20090824-1724.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00860-20090824-1724.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00861-20090824-1725.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00863-20090824-1725.jpg I plan to give him new dreadlocks and a whip :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/ Share on other sites
Dezartfox
Hair added, can't decide if he looks cool or just plain stupid :) http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00865-20090824-2150.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00866-20090824-2150.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00867-20090824-2150.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00868-20090824-2150.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00869-20090824-2151.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00870-20090824-2151.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00871-20090824-2151.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00872-20090824-2151.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00873-20090824-2151.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00874-20090824-2152.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00875-20090824-2152.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00876-20090824-2153.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2089279 Share on other sites
Drudge Dreadnought
I like the hair, but you might want to put some putty on the tips to have it me more hair-ish and less wire. blackbabyjesus
Not a fan of the dreadlocks, too 'techy' I think for a Bloodthirster, big barbarian braids or a shaggy mane would look more appropriate I think. Good work on switching the arm round though, once there's some paint over the greenstuff it'd be hard to tell. jester_prince
Lovin the dreads actualy, they remind me of the Preditor... They do need tips tho. If your going for the techy look you could always make him a cyber demon  how do you improve a blood thirsters killing power? make him a living weapon... oh damn i just gave myself another idea for a project. I dont even collect chaos. Still, i think the hand looks great and assaid above a little paint no one will know. Id like to see some more greenstuff work on him, I mean youve started to personalize him, why not go that little bit further. Captain morgan
with the dreads he strangely reminds me of bob Marley  on a serious note,i like the whip idea, looking forward to seeing how it goes Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2089380 Share on other sites

Shadow Jester
You need to add skulls to the ends of a bunch of his dreads!! lookin good so far like the gs work and like said add paint and itll look even better!!! The Nose
Really great work! As said before, adding skulls to some of the ends would look good, also, you could add some flam to some of the tips of the hair or blood drips. Quick question, what is the hair made out of? Alienerd
I can't tll any mistakes in the sculpting, and I like the look of the dreadlocks, but I think they appear too techy as well. If they were less like wire then I think they'd look more dreadlocky Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2089758 Share on other sites
Messanger of Death
I like him completely...the dread locks look perfect. I wouldn't go about changing the tips but id maybe do something about the roots of the hair. Maybe a chain mail loin cloth instead of a groin plate. He just looks so awesome and full of character. Biohazard
I just think the hair needs something at the ends as suggested above maybe some small skulls? Liking the pose and reworking of the arm though. Been watching your Dark Angels stuff for a bit now and just know you are gonna kick ass when you paint this. Raven Angel
Segestion put a skull at the end of each dredlock. Then paint them brass to go with the armour. Think of it as a weapon to help deffend his back if he gets jumped on. jester_prince
http://yfrog.com/bfscar20predator203zb1j Reminds me so much of that... id personaly do with the brass rings and skulls in the dreads...... OR knives at the end of each dread, mabey thouse dark angels bitz everyone has lying around might come to some use afterall. Now that could look awsome. Dezartfox
Right, I took everyones suggestions in mind, I added a few hooks, spikes and skulls, I would have liked smaller skulls but alas, I have none. He's 99% ready for priming I feel. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00878-20090826-2109.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00879-20090826-2109.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00880-20090826-2109.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00881-20090826-2109.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00882-20090826-2110.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00883-20090826-2110.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00884-20090826-2110.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00885-20090826-2115.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2091477 Share on other sites
Biohazard
Looking good, maybe still add some of the ringlets further up the dread like in the pic of the predator posted above? Shadow Jester
I agree that smaller skulls would have been a little bit better but there are so few to find. now with all those additions to the dreads the hair looks a lot more complete!! nice work! :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2096131 Share on other sites

Dezartfox
*Summons thread back from the dead* Well I have my Bloodthirster back! Flesh is more or less done! Merchrite Red Purple wash Blood red Orange Bleached bone (thin) devlan mud purple in recesses. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00150-20091123-0043.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00151-20091123-0043.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00152-20091123-0044.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00153-20091123-0044.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2193227 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Looking great so far! Glad you brought this thread back! Those dreads really work well. I like the purple red,its odd but cool (maybe add a glaze of brown/red just to tie the shades in together? My only slight thing with this great looking model, is the whip, it kind of lies really un-nturally, with the flow of the rest of the model (looks like he's gonna trip right over it) but thats just my observation. Keep up the great work!! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2193253 Share on other sites
Dezartfox
Cheers :D I tried to make the wip look like it was dragging across the floor, will hopefully be more apparent when I do the base, going to make it a snowy base I think, mainly because the resin cast was bad and is filled with air bubbles, Finished the wings and started on the armour This guy is a real pain to get photos of, the colour changes way too much. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00156-20091124-0116.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00158-20091124-0117.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00159-20091124-0117.jpg Here's the rest of the army (the vehicles are going to be redone.) http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00160-20091124-1242.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00161-20091124-1242.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/Models/IMG00162-20091124-1243.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176719-bloody-bloodthirster-blog/#findComment-2195767 Share on other sites
