Hello everyone!

 

I would like to extend an invitation to everyone here to come play in my 5 game Grand Tournament this October in Raleigh, North Carolina!

 

The cost to register is only $35. Last year we had 20 players and based upon the feedback I have received this year it looks like we could have as many as 50 players. The upper cap is 50. My tournament is all about quality and ensuring everyone has a great time. We want to draw hobbyists that will bring beautifully painted armies and are great sports. Everyone who played last year personally told me they had an excellent time. We will provide some awesome tables to game on and fun but very challenging missions. Our missions are designed to make sure everyone has an opportunity to win something. We give out awards for best overall, best army, warmaster (best general), sportsmanship and player's choice. Each category except for player's choice has 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Excellent sportsmanship is our motto and rules lawyers are not welcome. My GT team wants to make sure everyone has a fantastic time! :)

 

This year the GT will be held the weekend of October 10-11 and will be held at the University Towers right on the beautiful campus of North Carolina State University (NCSU). NCSU is only 15 minutes from the Raleigh airport and there are plenty of places to stay right beside the university. Registration will open during the middle of August so if you ate interested don't wait long to sign up. I can guarantee all 50 slots are going to fill up quickly.

Directions from South/East of Raleigh:

 

1) Take US Hwy 70 west or US Hwy 401 north into Garner, NC where the two highways merge.

2) Proceed north on US Hwy 70/401(S Wilmington/S Saunders St) approximately 2 1/2 miles.

3) Veer right onto ramp for Martin Luther King Blvd/Western Blvd.

4) At top of ramp, turn left crossing over US Hwy 70/401.

5) Proceed on Western Blvd. approximately 2 ¾ miles.

6) Turn right at light onto Gorman St.

7) Proceed just over ½ of a mile, turn right at light onto Hillsborough St. Turn Right onto Friendly Dr., about ½ mile.

 

 

Directions from West on Interstate I-40 towards Raleigh:

 

1) Take the Gorman Street exit #295.

2) Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp.

3) Stay on Gormon Street until you reach the intersection with Hillsborough Street.

4) Turn right at the light onto Hillsborough Street. There is a BP gas station at this intersection.

5) Stay on Hillsborough Street until you reach the intersection with Friendly Drive.

6) Turn right onto Friendly Drive.

7) UT is on your left.

 

 

Directions from South/East of Raleigh:

 

1) Take US Hwy 70 west or US Hwy 401 north into Garner, NC where the two highways merge.

Directions from East on Interstate I-40 towards Raleigh:

 

1) Take the Wade Avenue exit #289.

2) The exit ramp becomes Wade Avenue. Stay on Wade Avenue until you come to the intersection with Dixie Trail (fourth stop light).

3) Turn right at the light onto Dixie Trail.

4) Stay on Dixie Trail until you reach the intersection with Hillsborough Street.

5) Cross Hillsborough Street and look for UT on your left (just past the Johnson-Paschal Floral Company).

 

 

Traffic and Parking Tips

- You'll want to avoid traveling through the NCSU campus because of possible on-campus traffic.

- Please remember not to park in Reserved or Handicapped spaces or in the Fire Lanes at UT.

- When you check in with the front desk, you will be given a pass to park in our visitor area.

- The visitor parking in the front should be free.

- The parking deck open.
