weasleybob
!!!!!!Spoiler for those who haven't read Legion!!!!!!!!!!!(maybe, im not sure, but if you plan on reading it don't carry on here ;) ) I was reading a page on the lost Legions (and Primarchs) and thought about something. The page suggested that the Primarchs could have been made inthe order of their Legion number ie. Jonson - Dark Angels, First Legion, First Primarch created- and Alpharius/Omegon, Alpha Legion, 20th Legion, last Primarch. Fluff seems to show that Jonson was suspect and possibly a bit chaos. If the theory that they were created in order was true could that mean that Jonson was not created properly? Fluff also shows that the Primarchs were infused with the warp, maybe a mistake made there through inexperience? Also with the Alpha Legion being last could he have been the best Primarch (through the updated scientific method)?. Heres a quote form Index Astartes 4: "The Alpha Legion, as it was now named, was the last of the Adeptus Astartes Legions to be created. With astounding prescience, the Emperor had ordered their founding just a few decades before. The new Space Marines were tall and strong, much reminiscent of their Primarch, and were possessed of a cunning intelligence." With the Legion derived from his Gene seed of the primarch could it have been the best that was made? The alpha legion seems to be the be the best for working in squads, and even carrying on without their Primarch. Also Alpharius/Omegon seem to have the best judgement as well (seeing that they needed Horus to win to defeat Chaos). Any thoughts or ideas :nuke: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177079-possible-theory-on-primarchs/ Share on other sites
ForTheLion
Who cares what order the Legions were made in? All the Primarchs were made simultaneously so all of them were equal but ecceled at different attributes (johnson in strategy, magnus is psychic etc) The legions were made after the primarchs had been lost but the gene seed remained. Lord_Caerolion
To my knowledge the Legion number comes from what order the Legion was made in, not the Primarch. Alls we know is that the Dark Angels were the first Legion, but the Lion wasn't the first Primarch discovered, and that the Alpha Legion were the last, and were the last Legion created/Primarch discovered. If anything, the Alpha Legion seem to be an anomaly, as each other Legion (the World Eaters and Salamanders are specifically mentioned, and the Emperors Children fit this as well) existed long before the discovery of its Primarch, yet the Alpha's were created only years prior. Lord_Caldera
The numbers shown on the tanks in False Gods, supposedly corresponding to Legion numbers, were there as identifiers. The Primarchs didn't get names until they landed on their home planets and encountered human civilizations, so they would have been known as 1, 2, 3, etc while the Emperor was working on them.
