Ozybonza
So the new IA2 update has just come out, and it has Inq. Valkyries in there as SKIMMERS when not playing Apoc, so you can field them in regular 40K. This could be very good for my GK.... The only issue I have is that it doesn't say if it's an FA choice or a dedicated transport, but the previous update had it as a dedicated transport so I guess I'll go with that.... What's people's interpretation of the GK "only go in your own transport" thing applying to this? I would say that since it's not from the codex itself, I could put some GK's in it on the first turn.... number6
If you're using IA you're already playing a friendly game. In which case they should just let you "undedicate" your transports like literally every other 40K army that exists. Paladin_61RUS
There is no multimelta option for Grey Knight Land Raider Crusader/Land Raider in new update. <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177092-new-ia2-update/#findComment-2094634 Share on other sites
Ozybonza
True, but the codex versions of our LRs are good anyway - the DH FAQ gave us the good machine spirit and assault vehicle. Gentlemanloser
/sigh No more Drop Pods for our Dreadies... Even though the GK Dread entry still list a Drop Pod unter it's entry, our Codex doesn't contain Drop Pods, and the IA2 ones have now been changed to include a footnote that these are for; Space Marine, Dark Angel, Black Templar, Space Wolf and Blood Angel armies. Oh well. A new Lucius Pattern Dreadnought Drop Pod might have been fun. Inquisitor Fox
I think you could get away with the drop pod argument, even with the footnote. RAW is confusing, therefore pitching an obvious RAI argument should be fine. The lack of multi-melta is a little more problematic, but it just solves the "do I bother adding a pintle mounted thing" debate for ya! Now I'm losing excuses on buying valkyries for my Inquisition army... *sigh* Being responsible with a budget sucks! Ozybonza
/sigh No more Drop Pods for our Dreadies... But if you take GK Dreads from the IA2 update, you pay heaps more points anyway. Cpt_Reaper
Do our stormtroopers get a Valkyrie if we use the update? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177092-new-ia2-update/#findComment-2099024 Share on other sites

jeffersonian000
Maybe. I noticed the lack of a dedicated transport foot note under the Inquisitorial Valkyrie entry that is apparent in all of the other Inquisitorial vehicle entries. Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Are those Valkyries really worth the points though?? Im wondering as i dont have a IG codex on hand. And if they are worth it then im all for one of my two squads of Storm Troopers (one isa Arbite original squad). Kaime
As far as i can tell the options and points cost are identical to the ones in the IG codex, so they are worth it i think :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177092-new-ia2-update/#findComment-2100213 Share on other sites
