Bye Bye £80

Ouch.

What solvent did you use? ;)

Acetone free nail polish remover is what I was recommended by Forgeworld and GW Mail Order. I went out in the mornign and came back at night to that mess.

Acetone free shouldnt have done that.. However if you did leave it ALL day then yeah it will melt eventually

The trick with Acetone free NP remover is to dip it in, leave it a couple of minutes, give it a swirl and then brush off the paint with a toothbrush.

Woah... :P I guess you now have a great piece of terrain to play with.... As an aside, and not to blame anyone, but a little instruction with the recommended solvent would have gone a long way and cost what, maybe two breaths and 5 seconds? Ouch.

For stripping models use simple green and simple green ONLY. You can leave a mini in there for a week and no melting. With a toothbrush (plastic or metal) or soft wire brush (metal only) your paint will come right off.

At least you have a pretty cool terrain piece now... You could say it got hit by several melta shots at close range. Or make it part of a diorama where an Ork mek tried to salvage it and the machine spirit decided to self destruct...

I am absolutely gutted. I now have to work this weekend and cannot attend. I feel like all this thought and effort has been a waste.

But then I looked at it again and I am glad that I have had a chance to really look at the army and try and understand how it works in far greater detail. I intend to continue and finish, and I guess I can even take a bit more time with it as well.

What have you done with the ticket? I'm sure there are people who are desparate to get one last minute! Try Warseer?
