Skiman94
Hello All new to forum but I have read alot of everyones advice on several Grey Knight Armies (Especially the original NUmber 6 non lamd raider army) and love the water warrior style. However I have a question reagarding brother captains sterns re roll and was wanting to get others opinion on it. Is it just one actual dice rolled in a grouop or the whole group of dice. For example if you roll for invul saves and fail two of them can you reroll both dice. or is it just one of them For the Emperor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177261-brother-captains-sterns-re-roll/ Share on other sites
SamaNagol
Only Stern may use the re-roll, and you can only re-roll one dice per phase. So in a group of dice you will only be able to re-roll one. 'Dice roll' as it pertains to the special rule means the roll of a single die. number6
It does depend somewhat on the type of dice roll you're talking about. A reroll really refers to all of the dice necessary to accomplish a single task. In the case of attacks to hit or wound, that is just one single die. One die is how you determine whether an attempted attack hits, or whether an attack that has landed will wound. In the case of Morale/LD checks, you need two dice. What you are rerolling is a single check that happens to require two dice. In the case of "the scatter dice", you actually need three dice: the scatter die itself plus two normal dice. Rerolling the scatter dice requires you to pick up all three dice and roll them all again because they are all required to accomplish that one task.
