TC's White Scars WIP

So here's my first WIP of my first Marine. My Attack Bike:

I painted the metal first:

  • Tin Bitz
    Boltgun Metal
    Badab Black wash
    Chainmail
    Mithril Silver

I'm going to add some more details later, like soot around the exaust etc.

Here's how I painted the Marines and the bike itself:

  • Chaos Black Primer
    Adeptus Battlegrey basecoat
    Badab Black wash
    Codex Grey

And that's where I'm at right now. Next up is a layer of Fortress Grey and a final coat of Skull White before I start detailing.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I did a little bit more work between classes today. Here's the result:

It's kinda ugly, I know, but keep in mind that this is the first Marine I've ever painted. The White is also far from perfect, and the transfer is lifting something terrible, but I'm still kinda proud of it so far. <_<

Thanks for the replies, guys!

@verpine: Thanks, man! I actually think he looks like he wants a hug in the latest pictures. :P

@Frostbit3: Thanks, but I'm not even going to try. As you can see, my painting is a little... unrefined, to put it gently. I'll invest in some MicroSol if the problem persists.

Anyways, here's an update:

You can get a quick, well shaded white if you start with a Astonimicon Grey (I'm assuming you're using GW paints) and then slowly add white to Codex grey and "WetDryBrush" it on. It'll look different then the one you have, which *does* look good, don't get me wrong, but if you use either Asurmen Blue or Badab black to cut the colour, it'll shade fairly easily.

@InsertCoins: I actually did use a little bit of Badab Black before I started layering the Codex and Fortress greys. I thought about Astronomican (sp?), but it looked a little too blue for me.. Maybe I'll give it a try nontheless though. :)

@Ternimatorinhell: Thanks, brah! :tu:

Update: The bike itself is done. I just have a little bit of work to do on the sidecar and I'm done!

I would also like to obtain a suitable base for it. My new plan is to buy a 60mm round base and two cavalry bases and then do some Frankenstein work with some plasticard.

@Lastman: Thanks! That'll sure come in handy!

@Paulochromis: Thanks, but I'm keeping them red.

Anyways, here's the finished product (actually, I still have to do the backpack)

Well, I hate to triple post, but I think I should update.

Here's my Assault Sergeant with his helmet and shoulder pad done.

The pictures are really bad because I had too much light on him. Some of the washes were still drying, so I put him under my desk lamp in the hopes that that would speed up the process.
