TC's White Scars WIP

@ greendestiny & KaosRaptor: Thanks! I'm glad you notice the little things I do. I really try to make each model look different and unique. That way, even if I have ten marines and two Rhinos sitting right next to each other, there's enough to look at for a while. :P

@ gnomey: Haha, you found me!

@ Night Runner: Please do! Combi-weapons are hard to come by, and they can get expensive if you buy them from a bits site. Lots of gamers (myself included) can't afford to spend a lot on the hobby they love, so any way I can help a fellow Marine lover save a couple bucks, I'm glad to do it! :D

Here's the Land Raider mostly assembled (nothing glued yet - I still want to paint the inside first):

If you're sharp, you'll notice the Techmarine is going for the ZZ Top look. I quite like the way he's turned out so far.

And what would a White Scars army be without....

KHAAAAAAAAN!

KHAAAAAAAAN!

Well it certainly has been a while. For those of you that don't know, I took a little break from the hobby for a while. Now I'm back, so you can expect to see some new stuff from me soon. In the meantime, I've been doing a series of videos detailing how I paint my White Scars, so if you're interested, take a look:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5 etc. coming soon.

You may or may not remember my custom chapter, the Lions Rampant. I have a WIP Marine that I'm painting up just for fun (I probably won't ever have a full army of them, just because I already have my White Scars)

And I've also been working on this Iron Hands Marine for a friend of mine:

Anyways, keep an eye out for new stuff!

Tip: Mudsplatter?

How would you go about doing that? Maybe dipping an old toothbrush in brown paint and flicking it onto the miniature?

Hmmm... just some rough painting around the feet with a color like graveyard earth can be good. I've done it on some Space Wolves a few years ago. I'll see about finding one and taking a picture for you. It might especially work on the Terminators, as their heavy stomping boots would cause a good splatter.

I've done a little work on my Raven Guard Dreadnought!

A bit of a close-up on the freehand writing on the weapon arms:

Finished up my first Dreadnought!

It was a bit of a pain, but I did get through it eventually. I tried a new technique for weathering the edges - I tore off a piece of the foam that comes in blister packs, then dabbed it in Tin Bitz, and then painted over the dabbings with Chainmail once they were dry.

You can't tell from the pictures, but the Heavy Flamer and the Storm Bolter are magnetized, so I can swap them out.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Forgeworld - some brass etch stuff, some White Scars Rhino pieces (I'm going to use the fronts on my Predators, and the doors on my Vindicator), and some of the weathering powders. Once those come in, I'll have a lot more to update.

Here's a shot of my 1250 army, minus one Predator (and minus the forgeworld fronts for the Predators).

The main problem is that I need to prime them white, and I can't do that inside (I live in an apartment, so no garage, etc.). Unfortunately, this means I'm going to have to put them on hold until the weather clears up. In the meantime, I plan on working on what's already primed (ie the Rhino & Tacticals). The problem is I'm pretty busy with school, so updates are much fewer and further between than I would like.
