Lord Kallozar
I dont know if a thread like this has been done before so i thought i would start one up and get some debate going. If/when Abbadon launches a 14th black crusade what do you think will happen and/or what would you like to see happen? I would think that Cadia falls completely into chaos hands this time and every last Imperial bastion including the populace on the planet are wiped out. With the worship of the Emperor vanished from Cadia and the heavy taint of chaos now in control, the dark gods try to lure Cadia within the grasp of the EOT and transform it into some sort of a daemonic warp gate planet. Surrounding systems nearby Cadia are then breached by the chaos forces, slowly clawing closer and closer into the heart of Imperial space. The minions of the dark gods seem impossible to stop until a last desperate strike is implemented by a combined force of Astartes who strike at Abaddon directly and finally bring down the Warmaster. With Abaddon dead and renewed vigour now among the Imperial forces, the Black Crusade is slowly driven halted. Eventually the Crusade comes to a stale mate. It is a victory for Chaos as Cadia is under complete chaos rule and nearby imperial sectors are tainted too but with Abaddon dead it may be a very, very long time before another grand assault on Imperial soil happens again... Anyway, thats what i would like to see, but what about you guys? :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/ Share on other sites
Magnus Thane
Abaddon is eternal! For the Warmaster! Besides if Cadia fell he'd be given Daemonhood, so big deal if they take him down... he'll be back. Though if there is a new one it's possible that Cadia will fall but unlikely. GW is reluctant to move time forward and the Cadian IG is the archetypical guardsman. They'll not be eager to see that planet go. JamesI
14th crusade? A whole lot of people die. Nothing much happens to advance the plot of the universe. Cadia doesn't fall in the end. Important
I don't think Abbadon would fall, also I don't think he would come back as a Daemon prince of any kind. Since he refuses it now and he seems to be a marine that would accept his death sort of. I think "If I'm going down I will leave a mark to remember me by!" I would like to see a 14th crusade with different goals then Cadia as main focus. Yeah ofcourse finnish the damn thing off but perhaps lead an massive Ork invasion on a system and go nuts. Kinda like Armageddon / Eye of terror campaign in one! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/#findComment-2099164 Share on other sites

Corpse.
Abbadon doesn't die cause he wil always chicken out before he is to be killed. Spoken like a loyalist. Careful there. 14th black crusade will be nurgle themed I think. 2x7=14, nurgles favored. They may make something big on the daemon codex, where daemons can pop out so can chaos space marines. We can look forward to a nurgle winter when that happens. wizard12
I would like to see the chaos forces reach terra and mars. If only to get a GW adeptus arbrites, Adeptus Mecanicus and Adeptus Custodes codexi come out. I mean, wouldn't a big campain store wide in places such as large cathedrals and massive forge worlds be great. well, I should leave before the ordo heriticus get here and execute me W Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/#findComment-2099558 Share on other sites
heretic??ME??
Cadian box sets make GW money. If Cadia falls how many kids are gonna want to buy these?? A repackage to 'standard' guard would be needed, in these cost cutting times is that gonna happen? On a lighter note DOWN with CADIA!!!!!!! With the general idea that the timeline is not moving anymore (even read GW would have to change copyright to 41,000) Cadia is gonna hang on in there a little longer. Next expansion set to come out: Apocalypse 'HELL on CADIA' with lots of expensive add ons. incinerator950
I'm sure IG are do for new models, why not replace Cadians with something else already. Yeah, nothing new is gonna happen, we're gonna kill a bunch of people, and then get defeated because lots of Space Marine players out number us. Imperialis_Dominatus
Besides if Cadia fell he'd be given Daemonhood I much prefer the image of him refusing Daemonhood till he stands over the Golden Throne with the Emperor's corpse in the Talon of Horus. Prot
I have always compared Abaddon and his Black Crusades (As depicted by GW) in a very direct relationship to that annoying, drunken uncle that you have over every Christmas dinner. You know he's around... you don't see much of this uncle, and most of your family members don't really like to admit he is a part of the family. Nevertheless, once a year he shows up. Belligerent, hostile, sometimes funny, but always drunk. Sure he'll break some furniture, eat all your turkey and probably offend half the family, but you know he's mostly harmless, and most likely just going to pass out on the couch. At the end of the night, you simply roll Uncle Abe into a cab, and say 'goodbye' for another year. To be serious for a moment though, I do see an outlet for a real difference in the next Black Crusade. I think the advantage, I believe, is actually in using new blood... Huron and the new chapters, the new traitor marines.... and any other iconic 'lord' like Huron. I think until now we've basically watched Abe launch most of these crusades with the aid of the original defectors. Let's face it, in that time, many have died, or perhaps somewhat replenished their ranks, but overall... Abe hasn't taken advantage of the 'new recruits'. IMHO it's an unexplored asset. incinerator950
Abbadon keeps screwing his own people over, he can't even get allies if he keeps backstabbing them. incinerator950
Yeah but that's Khârn, plus Khârn actually doesn't intentionally kill off everyone according to the fluff. Abbadon will leave you to Rot and die while the Imperials come, and he would rather run than stand and fight, of course GW doesn't want to give Chaos any plot armor to win a decisive battle so he turns and runs to pillage a sector that can't maintain a fleet and leaves Legionaires and Warbands to stand against an Imperial Counter attack. Kinda sounds like a true Son of Horus. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/#findComment-2100564 Share on other sites
trolly
hi, Abbadon doesn't die cause he wil always chicken out before he is to be killed. Abbadon keeps screwing his own people over, he can't even get allies if he keeps backstabbing them. proof that he won't get any support anymore. well that the prize for saying horus is weak and fool. coz he is mega-moron. no 14th black crusade for abaddon. leave it for a warsmith, a dark apostle, or a talon master to lead the crusade. cheers, :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/#findComment-2101927 Share on other sites
incinerator950
Usually the term Black Crusade is Abbadon's Warpath followed by other Factions doing their own thing. Fluff wise we're uncoordinated, but game wise we were more coordinated. Castlerook
Abbadon will never accept daemonhood until Terra is a burning husk (well....even more of a husk then it is now if thats possible) and the Emperor is nothing more then strips of jerky between the fingers of the Talon of Horus. As for a 14th Black Crusade....will we see another global campaign based around the Eye of Terror anytime soon? Probably not, but there are plenty of other hotspots in the galaxy for GW to pore over, and other races to become the main villain for a while. First we had the Orks and Armageddon, Chaos and the Eye of Terror, so whose left from the other non-Imperial races? Dark Eldar? A dying race, which specialises in raids, commiting itself to a planetary invasion......probably not. Goes against the grain of the race. Eldar? Again, dying race, but might be more likely, especially if they were trying to reclaim a Maiden World. Tau? The Tau are like that little rockpool on the beach, sure they might seem big, but they just can't understand theres a huge beach....away from the pool. Yeah, there could be the 4th sphere expansion, but do they warrant a massive campaign. Maybe not, but you never know. Orks? Already had Armageddon, seems a bit unfair that they get a second campaign, even though Armageddon was hugely successful. Chaos? Same reason as the Orks. That leaves us with; Tyranids? Hmmmm....huge gestalt minded hives of gribbly aliens that devour whole planets like Homer Simpson and a box of doughnuts. A race of aliens whose shadow causes fear across whole sectors, while the expenditure of life to stop them is almost as great as the damage the aliens cause on a world? Can't see how that might work! *rolls eyes* Necrons Long dead race, rising up again to claim worlds for their star-devouring masters. As more dead worlds stir again, more troops rise and cause havoc on neighbouring worlds...... In all likelihood, if Games Workshop did another 40K global campaign, the main antagonists would most likely be Necrons or Tyranids. .....Actually is anyone else thinking a global campaign between the Necrons and Tyranids would be amazing? Something akin to the Daleks versus the Cybermen? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177557-14th-black-crusade/#findComment-2101952 Share on other sites

Sons of Horus
If you ask me Abaddon is just a big failure. He should just let the Primarchs lead the assaults on Imperial Territory. Retalitus
OK, forgive my rambling, but I see the 14th Black Crusade as being a counter-attack, rather than a specific invasion... why do I say this? Well, here's my reasoning: The Necrons, led by the remaining C'Tan, finally strike out to shut off the warp, aiming to cut off the Chaos Gods from the material universe forever! If I recall correctly, those pylons on Cadia were installed by the Necrons (or rather their ancestors) and are designed for some nefarious reason relating to the warp... why not with the purpose of containing it? Clearly, the Imperium won't take kindly to anyone invading Cadia, and are bound to respond with significant force. As for the forces of Chaos, they'll now have a reason to unite to meet this threat - will they need Abby to lead the crusade? Maybe not, but I'm sure he'll be looking for another opportunity to stay in favour with his masters... Does this sound like a sensible suggestion? I can't see it happening, but I kinda like the idea of two of 40ks big baddies facing off against each other... The C'Tan vs the Chaos Deities... that's my kinda fight! Gree
I would point out the failure of the Black Crusades is not Abbadon's fault. Chaos is simply in a horrible strategic situation. The Imperium has the only way for a mass invasion blocked. People are forgetting that the Imperium will commit anything to stopping Abbadon from breaking out. Plus Chaos's own nature defeats them. Even Abbadon can't hold together all the lords under his sway for long. Eventually the Imperium will slow down the chaos assualt with reserves from other parts of the Imperium and the chaos assualt will break down by Chaos's own nature. Replace Abbadon with any other commander and you have the same results.
