SoulReaver296
So me and my friend were bored waiting for our a table to play on, so we read through each other's codexes. He's going through the armoury and he asks me why i don't use psycannon bolts more than i do, so i told him that i didn't find them to be of much use generally. So he asks how something that ignores cover and invunerable saves isn't of much use. At first i was like :cuss... then he showed me the entry. To quote the standard wargear, "Only Armour saves may be taken against psycannon bolts; Invunerable saves may not be taken." he thought that meant no cover saves either due to the word "Only". then we looked at the vehicle entry for psycannon bolts, and it mentioned that armour and cover saves may be taken and had an interesting discussion about it. While i won't argue for having psycannon bolts ignoring cover when used by infantry, i do see where the RAI arguement may be made. what do YOU think? jeffersonian000
The question has come up before with Psycannons in general, as they have the same wording. GW ruled in the recent DH FAQ that Psycannons do not ignore cover saves, just invul saves and armour of 4+ or worst (AP4). As Psycannon Bolts give bolt weapons the same AP and invul bypassing ability as the full blown cannon does, the community in general agrees that cover saves are retained versus Psycannon Bolts in the same way GW ruled for the Psycannon itself. For actual cover ignoring ammo, check out the Witch Hunters codex for Blessed Ammo.
