Dark Angel Captain

Recommended Posts

Painted to give myself a bit of a break from blue marines (Ultramarines, not marines who happen to be of a melancholy nature).

Fairly happy with the way it turned out but not too sure if I like the topknot, still it needed something at the top and I thought it made it resemble an older mk of power armour.

Anyway onto the pics

And with interchangeable plasma pistol

Thanks for the comments so far, most of the model is fairly straightforward. The body is from an old DA veteran with the chest rebuilt, power sword is a space wolf arm with a chaos marauder shoulder pad and right arm is a basic bolt pistol arm with chaos marine shoulder pad. Found the topknot in my bits box but will hazard chaos marine?

You can get a better idea from the wip thread I did.

WIP

The green is a mix of dark angels green and chaos black over a black undercoat followed by a couple of coats of dark angels green leaving the darker colour in the recesses. Follow this by working outward towards the edges and raised areas of armour adding slightly more snot green to dark angels green working up to a final extreme highlight of pure snot green.

The gold areas were painted first with scorched brown then tin bitz, brazen brass and a final highlight of shining gold before being washed down with a thinned mix of chaos black and scorched brown.

Hope that helps.
