I'm trying to think of what I can do to make the storm bolter extra fancy, but I have no green stuff as you might have guessed from the pictures. I might just have to give it Gold plating and some writing with the paint job if I can't find any bits to spice it up... I might have a strip of bullets I can toy with though... S0L0 Again Posted September 5, 2009 Author Share Posted September 5, 2009 Actually I can steal a scope off of one of my other models and I'm pretty sure I have some wire/tubing laying around, thanks! I'll update with pictures when I get a bit more finished. Maybe I'll mess with that bit of plastic under the barrel to add to the laser scope idea. Also, I should have mentioned before that I didn't paint that backpack. mega_marines from this forum did. Hopefully I'll do that good of a job on the rest of this model. I might have a strip of bullets I can toy with though... oh i see you were just making a guy to look like pedro kantor...because Kantor is a Crimson Fists Captain. if you have a spare plastic heavy bolter from the new devastators you could use the ammo belt from that to hook up to the storm bolter to be like Kantors, yeah its big but fits fine to a storm bolter..... just a thought if you wanna go custom. Thanks for the idea! I already filed it down a bit where I glued it and I'll probably touch it up a bit more before I start giving it color. I also made an ironclad out of a blackreach dred this morning. I might post pictures of that but, like Pedro and all of my other mods, it's very basic and not really impressive. I got it from Cato Sicarius' helm (the one he holds in his hand) because I needed an iron halo and it has Ultra Insignia. If worse comes to worse you can do a cast of the symbol and use the symbol on all your tactical marines. It's simple and adds a lot of depth to your models. Well the roomamte I mentioned earlier just moved in and is a seasoned veteran of 40k and especially ultramarines. He said when he's off work on tuesday we'll see what we can do with that pedro. Originally I wanted to run the cabling just as you said, but the plastic wouldn't agree with me. I still might be able to do that though. I'm not sure if the pictures show it well, but the cable splits and one part runs from the gun to his wrist, and a wire comes from the scope and connects to the first wire. I can probably move the gun-wrist piece and make it reach his shoulderpad. The characters do need to look somewhat like the official models, so Vulkan would need the 3 relics (forgot the names) and Pedro needs a power fist, Dorn's Arrow, and he needs to look 'inspiring.'
