Almar Zamasee
Forgive my ignorance brothers, but I was taught that one should never be ashamed when he does not know something, which is why I come to you. I've seen the Toughness 4(5) pop up a few times and I wonder what its function is. I mean, I can discern its meaning when it is with attacks, but when it comes to toughness, it leaves me baffled. This Toughness thing can be found with the Space Marine Bikers and some Ork units, and I'd like to know just how it works. JamesI
It means you are wounded as toughness 5, but for purposes of instant death your toughness counts as a 4. eyescrossed
Which means things Str8 and up kill you instantly, but Bolters will need to roll 5s or more to wound you. Almar Zamasee
Thank you for your swift answer. I couldn't find what the double toughness values meant while going through my rulebook, but it seems your answer has given me the guidance I so sought. Isiah
On p53 of the BRB it gives an explanation of how this applies to bikes under the heading Additional Protection.
