koran
I thought Id fill you guys in on a project Ive been working on. Im about a week and a half into the project and its going quite well. As you can see from the description Im trying to make an Inquisitor (54mm?) scale terminator. Everything is being scratch built from plasticard, tubing, greenstuff and milliput and is proving to be quite a challenge ;) Here's what Ive got done so far: The body and groin: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3546.jpg] http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3550.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3551.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3557.jpg Im currently doing some more work on these bits as I think the body is a bit barrel shaped and not totally the way it should be. The upper legs: (Left) http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3558.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3559.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3560.jpg (and Right - the leg with panelling) http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3561.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3562.jpg The "arch" that goes above the head. As you can see Ive done this separately because Im planning on making moulds of the pieces so I can make a whole squad of terminators http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3564.jpg The lower legs: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3570.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3571.jpg And the bit thats taken the longest, the head: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3569.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3568.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3567.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3566.jpg Getting the head symmetrical has been really tough but Im really happy with it. I just need to do the lenses for the eyes. At the moment Im thinking I will just use green stuff, I just hope I can get both sides the same :) Hope you like it so far. At the moment Im mostly working on the arms until I can brave doing the eyes! Terrible_Trygon
Very, very nice. The most promising attempt at an Inquisitor Scale Termie I have seen. You got all the portions spot on. Will there be Genestealers to go with the squad? Inquisitor Space Hulk would be pretty sweet. Shortsonfire79
Holy camoley! Its like a mini-titan. Thats awesome =-D I don't know Inq scale, but the fact that the torso is the same size as a 40k termie is mind-blowing. EnigmaShadow
Wow, I like it so far. I like the fact that you're looking at doing all the work with the plasticard and filling it in with Green stuff. Looks good so far. Do you know what sort of weapons will be going on him? Looking forward to an update. -Shadow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177857-project-terminator/#findComment-2102874 Share on other sites
Midas
This is awesome not only do you have an exact replica of a termy but a really kick@$$ paladin Titan, consider yourself followed. Debauchery101
wow awesome work man. when i was scrolling down for a new pic of the work, at first i thought you were holding a warhound cockpit! incase you havent made up your mind, i vote for heavy flamer/chainfist loadout. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177857-project-terminator/#findComment-2103011 Share on other sites
koran
No plans for stealers right now as you can buy them already... Maybe I will convert up a broodlord but thats looking way into the future ;p I will be scratch building the stormbolter as well. I find using the larger 40k weapons (like heavy bolters) just doesnt look right. Making it will be a pain but then I dont think it can be anything compared to the head. As for weapons, as mad as it sounds Im planning to make a whole squad of five so theres going to be a number of weapon load-outs :D At the moment Im thinking I will do them as deathwing so I can have the most variation. So far Im thinking: 1 Terminator Serg; stormbolter and power sword 1 Terminator Apothecary; stormbolter and powerfist 1 Banner bearer; stormbolter and powerfist 1 terminator; heavy weapon (either heavy flamer or assault cannon) and possibly a chainfist 1 terminator; not sure about this one. Maybe stormbolter and chainfist, maybe thunderhammer and stormshield 1 Belial or Interrogator Chaplain. Im thinking its going to have to be Belial to allow the Apo and banner but I think the black of the Chaplain would set off the bone squad really nicely. Maybe I will do both... If I can bring myself to after having done six terminators! Sersi
There's nothing I like better than to see a scratch build done right. Where the modeler obviously took the time to study the subject and make detailed scale measurements before getting started. Precision there's nothing like it. I really love this project. I'd go with scratch built weapons all the way. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177857-project-terminator/#findComment-2103262 Share on other sites

koran
Thanks for all the comments guys. Im glad you like what Ive done so far. Im working on the arms at the moment and hopefully (if the milliput dries) I can put up some pics of where Ive got to tonight. Yes, I will be casting him so that its easier to make multiples that have an identical base to put details on for the squad. koran
Anyways, here's a little update for tonight. A little later than expected; I think Im getting a little addicted to Space Hulk. Ive been working on the body a bit more and the upper arms. First the upper arms as there isnt much to explain. What you can see is the arm down to the elbow joint with the "underpad" (ie there is the main pad will go on top of this). http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3580.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3579.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3574.jpg The body I have more been fiddling with. After comparing it to a terminator body I realised that it was a bit too barrel like and it needed a few more curves to echo the shape of the rib cage. Add to that that the "powerplant" area around the terminators head should have been a little thinner and it was starting to bug me. So some filing, cutting and milliputing later its changed to this. Ive thrown in the before photo so you can see what Ive done easier. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3572.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3546.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177857-project-terminator/#findComment-2103835 Share on other sites

koran
Have you got a link to him Trygon? I tried looking on google but cant find anything that has pictures. Just a mention of it and then nothing :wallbash: Anyways, this isnt really an update but today I was playing with the shoulderpad and powerfist and was having some issues with size so decided to bluetak what I have done so far together and see how it looked then. As I thought the powerfist was too small but Im in the process of adding spacers to beef it up to a suitable size. Having put him together I thought I might as well take a few snap-shots to post up. Obviously the stance isnt very good as its just bluetaked. He wont be as bow-legged when he's done :P The groin also looks a little too big. This is to give room for the belt that goes around a terminators waist, something that Im planning on doing separately for each one so I needed to allow room for it. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3586.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Terminator/DSCF3584.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177857-project-terminator/#findComment-2104820 Share on other sites
