I changed the coloring on the robes and and I am just doing detail work here and there. Struggling on the power weapons. The green power weapon has a bunch more to go yet. Enjoy.

More to come.

My recipe for the yellow I change up quite a bit depending on what I have available. For these helmets I started with snakebite leather as the base for them. I then worked it up to the yellow I liked using bad moon yellow added to the mix as I went along. The final highlights I mix in some skull white and apply it to the edges of the helmet. Sometimes I will use some washes on the guys but with this batch of yellow I didn't. I liked the way the shadows just sort of appeared as I was going along.

I have been trying a new way to get to red for these guys. It is a great deal quicker than the normal way I do red. I'm still in limbo as to what technique I think yields better results. The way I do it now is quite a bit faster so I may stick with it, still not entirely certain. The highlights on this red were done using dwarf flesh mixxed with red and then bleached bone on the most extreme parts. I bought some vomit brown so that will make an appearance next time around.

Thank you for all the comments. They help keep me going. I still have a bit to do on these guys. I think I will do more on those damned power weapons. They still just aren't right to me just yet. I think I am close though. I am using Midnight Runner's way of doing power weapons so all thanks to him for the inspiration.

Hope you enjoy what I have done so far and please rip the models apart as I want to get better at painting.

All the writing and chapter symbols are free hand by the way. I think it adds a little to the models. Thanks for looking.

As always love your work Seva. The power axe looks great to!

I agree.

Also I would like to suggest, If you don't mind me saying so, that the green power weapon could use a little white IMHO, consentrated on the tips of the lightning pattern and the power knobs. :)

I have been painting a bit more. I am still fretting over the power weapons. I think it might be my camera set up but then again a bad carpenter blames his tools so I figure I still have a long ways to go before I can feel satisfied with my work. The models are pretty much finished. I have little bits to do here and there. I should probably bring some highlights up more. I will have to figure that out while still keeping the colors subtle. Tough choices to make. Here they are so far. I am proud of the yellow on the backpacks. I actually think that looks O.K. From now on I think I will use either red or green for power weapons. I don't like the blue with the red. Something is off in my execution of the blue. Purple might look good. I'll have to see.

Here are the models. Enjoy.

Tear them apart!

Finished the LPC today so I thought I'd post up the models. I was going to more to them and I still might but they are pretty much as done as I am going to get them. I have some things I want to start and I am pleased with how these guys turned out.

LPC finished.

That is one excellent looking squad, especially the yellow; how did you do that? It is THE colour I really struggle with!

Thanks Midnight. I started with snakebite leather for the base coat. Then I work up from there to a point where I like how the model looks.

It goes like this usually:

Snakebite leather

Snakebite/Iyanden darksun

I use a wet pallete so I just start adding bad moon yellow to this mixture. Eventually I use white in there and pure white on some spots.

I didn't use any washes on these helmets. The snakebite leather makes that not necessary.
