RabidWulfen
Let me tell you a story, in the close of the 41st millenium i was an inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus, during the Dereplosin cleansing i was struck down by a mutant of chaos. Funny how a man can fall to even the smallest of foes. Regardless i have since found myself reborn and transformed due in no small part to the Canis Helix and as i take my first stumbling steps into the light of this perpetual darkness i must say that i require aid from my new brothers and guidence from the long fangs and great wolf's of my pack. For you who cant understand this, basically im starting a spacewolves army (after about 6 years, yey for me) and n anticipation for the release of the codex next month have bought the SW battleforce box and am in the process of painting it however ive hit some road blocks. 1. Not the best of painters and colour schemists so any advise on painting wolves would be a great help. 2. Leading the men into battle is allso not my strong point (I find i relly perhaps a little to heavill on Russ' teachings i.e. charge em all in and kill the other guy. If this is not Russ' teachings then i apollogise if i offend you) so any tactics or battlefield wisdom you could impart on me such as wargear choices and tricks that will make me a more cunning wolf would be helpfull. 3. Any awesome models i should get my hands on would be appreciated. 4. Anything else you can think of that can turn a pup into a true Space Wolf would be of great help Once again thank you my brothers for any help you can give me (p.s.) may include pics of the army ass i progress. Butso far in 7 days i have managed to assemble, base, convert if i felt like it and undercoated the entire battleforce consisting of: - 10 Grey Hunters Loknar's Pack - 10 Blood Claws Renlok's Pack - 3 Bikes Hagard's Pack - 1 Rhino (lovingly called) the Spear of Russ after the mighty artifact of the chapter. All squads have a short 1 paragraph back story that I wrote when I was boed and may choose to post if anyones interested Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178009-fresh-to-the-pack/ Share on other sites
hendrik
welcome new pup! 1) for painting sheme there are a few shemes going on; there's the really bright sheme GW uses, a slightly darker bleu one like i and others (think for example max) and ofcourse the pre heresy grey sheme, it's your choice to choose which way to go on the top of our forum there's a stickied topic in which we post our minis, take a look there and tell us what sheme you like, or contact the painter via a PM 2) you can't be a good general immediatly pup, afterall you're still a bloodclaw. with the new dex right around the corner i wouldn't go too much into tactics, but if you do a good searchy around here you'll find lots and lots of topics handling tactics etc 3) check out the topic that's 67 (or 68) pages long, there are the pictures of the new space wolves models, you'll want to buy these so start saving money now;) 4) you can always buy us grey hunters a beer or 2,3,4 perhaps you just better give us the whole keg;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178009-fresh-to-the-pack/#findComment-2104531 Share on other sites

WG Vrox
welcome whelp,, Keep the ales coming, sit for a span and listen to the mighty tails of the grey beards that pass through the hall's of the fang. 1. practice practice practice 2. Did I mention practice, but there is nothing wrong with the ol' hit em hard hit em fast tactic. In time you will feel like branching out and trying new things. Mostly just read posting of the fang and it will come to ya. 3. what do ya got so far? better to know that first before we can offer advice. 4. procure, paint and play WG Vrox. Hotspur
Let me join the brothers of the Fang in offering an ale to the newest pup! You'll find lots of sound advice in these forums, so make sure you use it. I have to agree with Vrox; practice is your ally. The more you know the capabilities of your army, the better. When you have a solid list, consider posting it in the army list section of the forum, that way we can all give our two cents and try to help you out. I see you bought the old battle force; that's a good start to a mechanized force if you should choose to go that direction. I would, however, hold off on buying anything new until the new dex comes out. Quite a few things are changing, so I think it would be best to wait and see what we get. Take a look at the October release thread for a general idea. Once again, welcome to the Fang!
