Long fangs in drop pods?!

Well as the title says, Long fangs in drop pods and what do you think of it? I'm wondering this because I was looking through my book and saw that any unit in power armour could go into a drop pod and then the thought of long fangs appeared! And I thought well would it work? I know that heavy weapons can't shoot on the turn they appear but maybe that's it? You send them in, drop them somewhere nice, maybe closer to enemy lines etc, present other juicy targets so he doesn't concentrate shooting on them so they can wreck havoc next turn....this may or may not work but I think it will be funny as I plan to create a silly list where I only have two grey hunter units, a 5 man strong termie armour WG with Wolf priest to drop pod in some where else and maybe two other drop pods that contain long fangs, depending the long fangs will come down first and get into position then the termies come in some where soft for some fun too. Also more maybe added as I haven't finished the list yet.

But still the major point of my question is the will long fangs in drop pods work? Even if it's gonna only be for a few weeks until heaven comes to earth in the form of a new Codex! :)

Also you ahve permisson to tell me how stupid this is as I'll be doing it anyway just for some fun. :P

It's something I've thought about as well, and I believe that it is entirely down to what terrain you have available.

You'll want them to be somewhere they will have cover, and yet be able to fire the following turn...

So if you could drop them near ruins or somesuch, yeah, it might work, but you'd have to be damned sure that your opponent would rather fire at something else...

Well, may be "silly" but stick ol' Grimnar in with them and they can choose relentless on the turn they come in- let rip with those heavies, and still have the big Wolf to back em up in combat.

Yeah but sadly that will only be with the new codex AND I doubt that unit will survive the next turn as it's an expensive character in an semi expensive uint and well as cool as it sounds! Just seems a bit too much of a waste of points chuckling Logan into a suicidal Long fangs pack. :)
