Canis Wolfborn
Hello. I decided to be a SW(My first army) and have been playing for about 6 months. I am more of a modeler/painter, and have never played a full game B) I would also like to start playing more. Is there anything I should know about being a SW? For Russ and the wolftime! Hrathnar Flintfang
First lesson about the fang pup Keep your ears sharp and learn, Stay out of a greybeards way, and new guy always buys the ale! Now if you want some combat wisdom, that is easy. My first bit of advice is to just play. Unless you are playing your first game against someone fresh as well odds are good you are going to lose a few times. Not saying you are not skilled, just that the best way to learn is to do. That aside I can't really give you too much helpful advice sine we are expecting a whole new set of rules in less than a month. I will say to take advantage of Vendreds as HQ while you can, because it seems you will not have the option to do so for much longer. Also be careful to not invest too much into your HQs. Having a point heavy Wolf Lord or Rune Priest can be incredibly fun and is defiantly fluffy but one lucky shot and your hard hitting champion goes down, along with most hopes of victory. Other than that I would say have fun while you can, and study the new Dex in your game shop or when it comes out. Once you know how you like to play you can decide what models are best for you, be it fast hard strikes or slower unstoppable forces. Find how you like to play and then work on that. cherrboh
dont gear out your squads to be good at everything. when that happens, they follow the path of good at everything, master of nothing. basically, a unit designed for one primary use is more efficient in that use than in many lesser ones, which another unit can excel in. so specialise. WG Vrox
Lunch, come now when new whelps walk through the doors of the fang, it is up to use to welcome them, not judge them. With that said welcome whelp. Find someone that is willing to slow down and teach you the game, sure you may loose a bunch at first but thats what it will take to earn your grey.. WG Vrox. Canis Wolfborn
One of the reasons I like SW is because of the comraderie. Passes tankards of ale around. Hfran Morkai
One of the reasons I like SW is because of the comraderie. Passes tankards of ale around. I'll drink to that! For RUSS, THE ALLFATHER, THE CAMARADERIE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, THE ALE! (Sorry for caps abuse) Welcome, wait in anticipation for our new shiny tome full of goodies, it's about time as well because my old codex is falling apart. Thorgrim Blackwolf
Welcome to the Fang! You'll need to buy more rounds before we're satisfied, whelp! You will need the new codex but for starters an IC of your choice, a dreadnought, wolf scouts, a couple of squads of grey hunters and blood claws, rhinos and a tank of some description will give you a flexible force that can deal with most things. Cheers Thorgrim Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178192-new-wolf-pup/#findComment-2107661 Share on other sites
