Captain Mike
Unnnamed ain't right. I'm going to give them names, but I'm stumped for the chapter name! Anyway, for my 16th birthday party, I'm going to have a special mini game. Four mates and I will control one scout each, and have to fight off wave after wave of orks, controlled by my Waaagh loving mate. Basically like Gears of War 2 (screw the age recomendations, tharr be guidlines rather than actual ruules), but with scouts v orks. There's going to be a number of different weapon combos. Sniper, shotgunner, bolter, CC dude, and one that hasn't been decided yet. Anyway, here's my character, part done. Anything missing (apart from his arm), any improvements to be made( like better lighting)? And I must say this is probably the best Space marine I've painted yet. Thats not boasting, look at my old ones. They would embaress a six year old. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout14.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout1.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout13.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout12.jpg The orange is actually many degrees of brown! Dark flesh is my new god paint. Forget foundation paints, that'll go over anything! Xeonic
The paintjob is exceptionally good so far, keep it up, it puts my scouts to shame! I'd suggest adding a sergeant with powerfist/combi weapon(flamer!) or power weapon/bolt pistol, along with one heavy weapon(both hellfire shells and frag missiles are good vs clumped hordes, but the HB will be more useful overall). Since you were just looking for one more, I'd say a Heavy bolter, and make the CC guy your sergeant, most likely. Are you going to be running them as essentially a bunch of loose ICs for movement/unit coherency purposes, something like the killteam rules? I'm interested to know what you plan to be doing with the rules to make this work well. Captain Mike
Ah, I should write some pages on this! Basically, each of my mates will control a standard scout (only they have two wounds, to make it a little fairer). So no sarges. I've got a shotgun, cos I'm the blunt end of a maul. We've got a sniper (who I'm going to give the 'cap' hat from the Catachan command), a Bolt Pistol and chainsword guy, a boltgunner (with an IG tank commander head) and my other mate is undecided. The orks are going to be supplied by my Waaagh mate, and they are gunna come on randomly in 'waves'. Basically, at the beginning of each 'wave', he will roll to see how many 'wave counters' he gets, representing one unit he can put on the table. This unit can be anything from 3 grots to a warboss, which is random but decided at the beginning. The units will come in from the table corners, except the corner where there are the most scouts nearby (if its equal, I'll roll.) Once he has used up all his 'wave counters', the wave ends. We total up our kills (1 point for a grot, 2 for a model with the boyz statline, 3 for a nob and 5 for warboss, but maybe different units too. He gets 10 points if he kills a scout. At the next wave, all dead scouts get back up (hey, its a partygame) and the thing starts again. But I'll be making it more difficult for us by giving him an extra wave counter each turn in addition to normal. The only advantage the scouts have is range really. Thats it so far, needs a lot of refining. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178314-unnamed-scouts/#findComment-2108687 Share on other sites

Captain Mike
Wow, 2 days and it' sunk to the bottom of the pile! Perhaps a completed scout will wet your appetite? I've yet to think of a chapter name, or anything about the chaper other than they beleive in a 'strike fast' concept. And then I'm stumped! Anyway, Scout Marek, shotgunner. My camera was in a good mood (yes, my camera has moodswings) and let me take some mildly good close ups. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout13-1.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout12-1.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Scout1-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178314-unnamed-scouts/#findComment-2111394 Share on other sites

Thadrash
It is looking really good I like what you have done to the shotgun. Chapter names i find are a pain to come up with, heres a possible few that came to mind not sure if they are used or not: Nova Storm Storm Avengers Shadow Champions Shrieking Warriors Delta Storm Can't wait to see the other scouts. Is the head from the Imperial Guard? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178314-unnamed-scouts/#findComment-2111594 Share on other sites
sgtNACHO
I'd Guess some Catachans. Perhaps you can call them the Carrot Warriors? That symbol on the shotgun just seems like a flying carrot to me! The Sunset Dragoons? the Fire Dragons? the Fire Lords? Your game sounds very doomed for the scouts. Are they gonna have Fortifications? and/or emplaced weapon turrets they can man? and/or Apocalypse-like stratagems? Pretty much, are the Scouts getting some Planet strike-like abilities and defenses in order to actually hope of surviving? are you making a Movie Marine Scouts Force Codex? ;) Good Luck to my Astartes Brothers! Kill many Greenskins for the Emperor! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178314-unnamed-scouts/#findComment-2111597 Share on other sites
