Pred Variant

Since we've lost the LRE, I've been debating what to replace it with. I figure this is a good time to polish up on my customization skills. Here's what I'm planning to do:

 

Ar pred variant using the turret from a PA, but instead of the TLLC, I was going to find another Destructor AC barrel and do a TLAC.

 

Sponsons would have Assault Cannons w/ options for HBs or LCs, like in C:SM.

 

So the standard kit would be TLAC w/ AC sponsons. All other wargear and costs would come from C:SM. I know a lot of you are going to say, "why not just use a LR?" Well, the reason is, I've always wanted to do something like this and I figure it would be worth the points to see the look on another person's face when they see that pred... <_<

 

Let me know what you guys think. As always, I'm open to suggestions!

I would have it start out with Heavy Bolters and then have the option to upgrade it to either AC or LC. People are just going to cry cheese if it starts out with twin AC sponsons unless they have appropriate points costs.

 

Besides, we already invented the Pred Anniallator, why would we need to invent another Pred?

 

Apart from that it sounds okay but it would have to be apocalypse only or you would need opponents permission to field it.

Hmmm well actually I am planning to make a Land Raider for personal/Apoc use with exactly that configuration, I even have the datasheet for it written up on a thread Here.

 

Still what you have made would probably work in such games, perhaps a more radical variation of the Predator we have already made or the like? All in all I say if you want to do it, go right ahead.

 

Though if you are going to make any variant, you may wish to go ahead and make a Datasheet. If you want I can PM you the format I used so you can just fill in the blanks. Saves alot of time.

@Beef: False rumour unfortunatly, my friend. I have had a good look through the codex and we did not get a new vehicle. If we did, people would claim we were over powered :D .

OK, so I got to thinking about this variant and thought that it could be so much better if I made a couple of changes.

 

Here's the first: The TLAC on the turret would become the Exterminator AC from the LRE.

 

Second: No AssCan sponsons; instead, it would get the option to mount one normal autocannon on each sponson.

 

All other equipment would be taken from the C:SM armory.

 

Standard loadout would be Exterminator AC, and 2 HBs, w/ option to upgrade the sponsons. Sound familiar?

 

I figure points costs would be similar to those of a pred annihilator; the Exterminator AC would cost roughly the same as the TLLC turret, and the autocannon sponsons would cost roughly the same as LC sponsons. I am open to any suggestions, as I have not started the model yet.

 

Of course, this variant would be exclusive to the Wolves.

 

Now all we need is a name!
