Tyfus
I would like to have my new puppies as a more darker version, maybe painted black or close to. Something in style between SM and chaos. Once upon a time there was pictures on the GW-site of a nice SW army in black. With some almost white faces and a lot of chaos tidbits. It was from a GT in Baltimore 2007, and painted by Michael Walsh. After GW's rearanged their site, my link got broken. Is it someone out there who still has the pictures or who knows how they where painted ? Thanks. Forseti
Hmm, I recall in a WD a few years back, probably atleast 4-5..There was a Luna Wolves army converted using SW rules, I think it was black with blue highlights..Trying to find some pics of it, because it really did look cool. Sorry, can't find either one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178345-black-painted-sw/#findComment-2108776 Share on other sites

Lord Howland Greywolf
Black Space Wolves are my idea. They are black with SW grey shoulder guards and DA (I know heresy) green trim. Throw in some black templar stuff and you have an early saxon style army. I think. El Scotcho
I hate to be a fluff nazi, but weren't the Luna Wolves colors gray green and black? And if I remember correctly the black was on the shoulder pads. Grimmwulf
Space Wolves are the embodyment of "we have our own way". I don't think any Wolf Lord would be punished for painting his squads armor how he likes best. And you can still say your Lord lost a drinking competition and was forced to change colors then :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178345-black-painted-sw/#findComment-2110531 Share on other sites
Marek Grimfang
I have had black wolves for years now. All black armour with yellow shoulder pads and accents. This was done primarily after stripping 3000 + points of wolves after a spray base coat incident. After seeing them primed black, a slight highlight, they turn out fast and furious, and look good in City Fight. It was brought on by frustration and a pur lack of wanting to go with grey. Vehicles are black with yellow doors. Its a very striking theme and Im proud of it. Vanger
Indeed, that army was on Baltimore GD, had chaos shields straped to the bikers. It was painted black with space wolf grey highlights. Imo not that impressive as the paint scheme lacked any real contrast colour (weapons were also black/dark, and hair color ws aslo black. But that's my oppinion. BDS
only way to do black is adpetus battlegrey and two washes of badab black Are you beginning with a black primer or white? DGC
Black is good although I have only done it on my Wolf priest http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s47/DGC_album/DSCN0300.jpg Chaos Black base with added Shadow Grey for the first highlights and a little Space Wolf Grey for the extreme ones Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178345-black-painted-sw/#findComment-2111035 Share on other sites

deedark
I think black would work well, if you shade as DGC has, and not just go black for an easy paint job D. TeamLando
I dunno about all black, seeing that's either w Wolf Priest or a Black Templar to me :) But black details, say pauldrons or all-black powerfists might be nice.....hmmmm. dublindawg
There is reference in the Chaos Dex about a chapter called Dark Space Wolves. The paint scheme is a dark grey with blue trim or a red trim. There is a thread on the chaos boards where a few guys fleshed out the background of chapter. Also if you google dark space wolves you will find a link to the 40kwebpidika (sp) with a picture but not much detail.
