Honda Posted September 12, 2009 Share Posted September 12, 2009 Sooo, if you happened to catch the discussion in Amicus about scouts and Landspeeder Storms, you'll know that I had a hankerin' to put a fun unit together just to have some giggles with. Below is the results of the first part of the exercise, a five man Scout squad with shot guns and a combi-flamer. This unit probably will never be seen in a 'Ard Boyz tournament, but that wasn't the point. I wanted something unusual to play with that people wouldn't see all that often...unless it ends up being hugely successful and everyone wants to copy the idea....yeah right. :jaw: Anyway, here's the squad which I am calling my "Black Eagle" team. Why Black Eagle? No clue. It sounded SPEC OPS-ish and I could sort of paint the icon on their shoulders. Unfortunately, the glare from my lamp pretty much washed out the eagle icon I put on their right shoulder pads. At some point when I get the entire unit done, I'll try and post some better pictures. I kind of like how they turned out, sort of a cross between ninjas and Navy SEALs...and I will report back on how they do, they will be in a game on Monday. Honda Posted October 3, 2009 Author Share Posted October 3, 2009 I feel the need for speed! Well, I finished the Black Eagle Teams Landspeeder Storm and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I know, it has camoflage. It's Ok, I wanted it to. This will most likely be a special, one of a kind unit in my army and I wanted to do something unusual. I highly recommend the kit. It goes together well and if you follow the instructions (unlike I did) you'll get to skip all the odd things I had to do to complete the model.
