NovaScotius
Evening all, I've been lurking around the Space Wolves board for the last few weeks, whilst finishing up my latest army, and looking for a new challenge. Anyway, my Deathwing army (Don't shoot me!) is finally completed, and I'm looking at Space Wolves - I'll admit it now, this may well be shameless bandwagon-ing! There seems to be a bit of a mixed hubub about the new Space Wolves Codex, some people seem to think it will totally unbalance the game, whilst others feel that it will be considerably underpowered. Either way, I'm not that bothered - I want something that is going to generate a decent painting project for me! So, I'm fairly sure that a Space Wolves army is for me, whatever the new Codex brings, it's sure to be a different play style to pure Deathwing. The only issue I have is with the paint scheme, whilst I can appreciate the appeal to the lighter Shadow Grey or Space Wolf Grey schemes, it's just not me, I'd prefer something more drab. I've seen some people do darker grey looking Space Wolves, which almost looks like their Pre-Heresy colour schemes, or close to the 13th Company models. Anyway, could someone explain how you achieve a darker colour scheme, as I'm not the strongest painter in the world, and would appreciate the guidance in how to get a good effect so that I can develop my painting abilities? Night Runner
Hi, I'm more of a 30k person myself so I'm painting my new army with an under-coat of Adeptus Battlegrey and a base-coat of Adeptus Battlegrey + Space Wolves Grey (50% mix). Then highlight by adding extra Space Wolves Grey to the mix. I will be posting some pictures of my first unit on Monday on my blog on this site. Check it out, you might like them.
