Master Chaplain Astador
Hey guys, it's been a long long long time since I have had anything in the hall of honour. Namely because I never photograph my finished power armour stuff. But tonight I finished my first Terminator from 1 of 3 Space Hulk boxes and thought I'd share him. http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new003.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new004.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new005.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new006.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new007.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Personal%20Armies/Black%20Templars/new011.jpg He didn't photograph to well, so I'll retake them tomorrow in natural light. Only took me a couple of hours to paint, and I'm actually quite happy with him for once! Next miniature that will be here is the Emperors Champion, Daemon Prince of Nurgle, and a Forge World Great Unclean One so keep watching! Cheers. Master Chaplain Astador
Last bit for the night, it's a base for the Nurgle Lord I'm working on for another contest. About 4 hours of painting on it tonight. Water effects and possibly more weathering tomorrow, not sure till then. Well C&C and Enjoy! http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Contest/CMoN%20Nurgle/new016.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178416-random-musings/#findComment-2109647 Share on other sites

Runebeard
That last photo really catches all the details nicely i especially loves the gore effects on the tyranid head/spine. FateSealer
Badass mini, great pose. Did you sculpt the tyranid skeleton? I'd say drill holes into the bolter though...personal preference maybe. Master Chaplain Astador
The miniature is from the new release of Space Hulk, I have 3 boxes so I may have swapped some of the parts, but the skeleton is part of the model. I wanted to drilll the holes, and may get around to it, but I haven't finished moving after 2 weeks and my pin vice is still in storage with most my hobby supplies. Master Chaplain Astador
Well next model is finished minus some fixing. It's a Nurgle Lord converted from Huron Blackheart. He got a bad can of Purity Seal but some of the frosting went away after a layer of Dull Coate. His thumb broke at some point after being sealed so I am going to try to find it tomorrow. Then a part of his base pealed off, so I'll rebasecoat it then fix it. But enough talking, enjoy these pictures. http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Contest/CMoN%20Nurgle/new025.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Contest/CMoN%20Nurgle/new029.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Contest/CMoN%20Nurgle/new027.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Contest/CMoN%20Nurgle/new0225.jpg C&C Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178416-random-musings/#findComment-2114743 Share on other sites

Something I have been working on lately, it's for the store's display at Space Wolf release next weekend. Backback is almost done, just some touch ups. http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/014.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/015.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/016.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/018.jpg Enjoy! Ferrus Manus
That's very nice. I'm guessing you used the old Codex cover art as your inspiration? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178416-random-musings/#findComment-2127103 Share on other sites
Hobbes
Hey Buddy, What scale is that? And he needs the wires & plugs coming out of the backpack connector, but I like it!~ -Hobbes (the Lurker) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178416-random-musings/#findComment-2131524 Share on other sites
Master Chaplain Astador
Thanks for the comments guys! The miniature is an old Forgeworld statue that is now OOP. Not sure the exact scale, he's just under 150mm. I just finished the backpack last night so once I charge my camera I'll update with new pics. wiplash
wow the SW is lush!! the face is a little colourless and the red mouth makes him look like a vampire, then again that could easily be the photography the shins and the lighting/weathering though look amazing and the fact that you havent painted the snow totally white really adds a pure lifelikeness to the peice Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178416-random-musings/#findComment-2131969 Share on other sites
Master Chaplain Astador
Thanks mate! I took some quick snapshots on my phone tonight. I can't find my camera charger so these will have to make due for a bit. http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/new078.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/WarForgeStudios/Old%20Projects/Space%20Wof%20Statue/new079.jpg C&C Enjoy! wiplash
do you take it off of the plinth to paint it? i would never be able to keep the paint off of it! nice to see you have sneaked in the DKOK commisar!! Master Chaplain Astador
I paint the plinth and the model separate and attach them at the end after dullcoates. For display base/plinths, I mask off the wood before priming, unless I want to paint the wood part. Well I didn't actually intend for him to be in the pictures, he was just what I happened to have in the background. On another note, the Wolf is sleeping soundly in his display case at Games Workshop Grapevine Mills, for the locals feel free to stop by and enjoy, I plan on painting a Njal for the painting competition. Oh and I found the thumb to the Nurgle Lord conversion. It was on the floor buried under some fuzz! On another note, no work done on anything tonight, went to the Zombieland premier. It was amazing! Did finish Captain Stern this morning at the store. Pictures tomorrow, plus need to make him a base and find a heraldry shield. Master Chaplain Astador
Thanks! <_< It's a slight conversion of the OOP Games Day miniature. But since it isn't power armoured, I really can't say any more about that. :) Check my Coolmini gallery sometime soon.
