WulfenCursed
(Long time lurker/reader and SW collector, first time poster :P Got that dream of the Big Wulfy Guy (several dreams, now I come to think of it...) telling me to get of my tail-side and get my company together to go and kick some serious mess, so I'd better get things rolling, I guess... Anyhow, here's a question for starters:) Hi all, having collected about 40-ish wulfen mini's over the years (just love the little hairballs!) , I'd really like to incorporate them in my army somehow, and not as single models but (dum dum duuum) actually in a unit. For those that have (read) the new codex; I know they aren't supported like this, so I guess 'counts' as is the way forward. What's your thought on the best way to get the Wulfen used in a unit using the 'counts as' rule? Thanks, WulfenCursed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178425-how-to-keep-using-wulfen-miniatures/ Share on other sites
Zemox
Wouldnt the fenrisian wolevs be a good way to use them? And i am going to have to agree, i think i am going to buy them even tough they are "useless" now. Firenze
What you could use them as is as Blood Claws. They may not be able to hit as well but the amount of attacks makes up for it. Ragnars Claw
That would be my suggestion too :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178425-how-to-keep-using-wulfen-miniatures/#findComment-2109779 Share on other sites
TeamLando
Well, with the new WYSIWYG-rules, you're gonmna have potential problems both with using them as fenrisian wolves (smalller base then wolves) and using them as blood claws (they lack bolt pistols, handweapons, and grenades). If you equpiied them with a knife, or just count their claws and hand weapons, and gave everyone of them (except the one who comes with one) a bolt pistol and a greande or two I guess you could legally field them as blood claws :) HEll, you could even throw in a power fist or something on one of them. I did that, just for the looks :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178425-how-to-keep-using-wulfen-miniatures/#findComment-2109791 Share on other sites
Wolfpriest
As far as WYSIWYG goes you might have some problems in tournaments with using them as anything but the squad upgrades that you can take. But in friendly games i don't think there are too many people that will be upset if you use them as blood claws or even fenrisian wolves, i would go for the cyborg ones for wulfen though. Vassakov
As long as you are consistent, WYSIWIG shouldn't be a problem as BC's come with BC&CCW as standard. Ensure that all the Wulfen represent the same thing, and that upgrades are easily identifiable and you should be fine. The problems will come when you go "they are BC's, they are Wolf Guard, he has a power fist and those two have flamers" when there is no obvious difference in the models. Mar Bloodaxe
I'm using mine for a couple of GH with the mark of the Wulfen. I only have 15 now that I disbanded the army I ran. Night Runner
I'm using mine for a couple of GH with the mark of the Wulfen. I only have 15 now that I disbanded the army I ran. The brother is right. Just use them to indicate which GH have the mark of Wulfen. The only problem here is that you'll have to have quite a few GH packs. Otherwise you can always deploy them in Apokalypse games.
