Hail fellow Wolf Brothers.

Long time wolf fan and player. Was sucked into the Wolves by an old army buddy back in the early '90s when he threw me his Space Wolf codex to read. At the time, I didn't jump into 40K as it was way too related to what I was doing for a living (a M113 APC looks a lot like a Rhino! LOL), so I opted to go into the Fantasy game with an Undead army. But the love of the Wolves never left me and as I got into 40K later, the draw of the Wulfen was just too much so I started my Wolves with some donated models from, you guessed it, that same army buddy! LOL I have amassed quite a collection of Wolves and still have more on the shelf to build. I also play Imperial Guard and have two daughters that play, one Orks, and one CSM. I currently live in Mass and am a club officer in our local gaming club, The 131. Hope to meet more Wolf Brothers on here and maybe one day grab a pint with some of you!

Hi, fellow Wolfkind!

Just recently got into the hobby (friend of mine got me into it). Got down to my local GW store, and started Space Wolves by picking up the codex. Have not gotten any models yet, I wrote up a list and now prepare to use it at my LGS with the display Space Wolves. Just a quick question, are wolf standards worth their cost? Hope to get some good advice on here, my friend (same one who go me into 40k) got me signed up. Hope to see most of you at Games Day 2010 Baltimore! (30 min. drive....heh.)

Greetings Wolfbrothers!

I have been playing 40k since a friend introduced me to it in 1994. Took a few weeks or so of experimenting before I chose the Space Wolves Chapter (although at the time, only the Space Wolves and Eldar codex were written). I have amassed a large force since, and branched out into other GW games as well. As many others, I endeavour to collect an entire Great Company, in my case Ragnar Blackmane's.

I switched to Eldar for a little while, but returned again to the roots with the release of the Space Wolves codex. Real life has sadly intervened in my gaming for the last years, and I don't have much time to play anymore.

I look forward to exchange ideas and thoughts on our favourite Chapter in the future.

For Russ and the Allfather!

Well,I'm not new to the Sons of Russ, but I'm returning to the Fang after a long hiatius.I'm trading all my IG for SpaceWoolves,to the same guy I traded them away to 18 months ago!I'm not a good enough general to make IG work,I'm more of the "in your face" player.

Hello all.

So I thought I might introduce myself here since I've been reading around here the past month or so trying to get better acquainted with my space wolves. I started collecting about a year ago now, and was first introduced to 40K by a friend of mine. He played Dark Angels *growls* and introduced me to the game, showing me the ropes and all that. Right away I started thinking about playing space marines, but I didn't want to just play some bland old army. Tau had caught my eye as well before I noticed a lone box of space wolves stuff sitting in a local club near me. Upon asking about the army I was informed a little about it, but also that the codex had not been updated or sold for quite some time and that I could get it through emailing games workshop. So I did, and began reading through it. Right away I knew which army I wanted to play.

I started off with an assault on black reach pack which got me everything I basically needed to start playing, but then quickly began to collect space wolves items to convert those normal marines into space wolves. It was not fun filling/sanding off all those vertical arrows on their shoulder pads! But I did, added some wolf tails and such and there we go, my first grey hunters squad. After collecting just enough for a 1500 point army I started playing, winning a couple of games but mostly losing before unfortunately life dragged me away from 40K all together up until a couple months ago.

I've come back now to my space wolves and have started kicking things back into full gear in building/collecting a larger army. I'm now around the 4,000 points area (maybe a little more) and am trying to get myself familiar with the new codex. I've already posted in the Army list section requesting for help from others of you who have been playing space wolves for a while for some general help with a 1500 point list, due to me being gone for quite a bit and not having full grasped things before I was pulled away I lost some of the knowledge I had.

But there you have it. A little about how I came to love the fluff of the space wolves and how I continue to trudge on through learning about this fantastic army.

For Russ!

Hail Brothers.

I've been collecting and playing SW for several years now, and I always liked the fluff more than anything (who doesn't like the idea of wulfen? Seven foot tall werewolves!), although I did always love the kits, being that bit more diverse than normal SM. When the new codex and kits came out, I was drawn back to the Wolves after a brief time playing Chaos and Tau.

Wassail Wolf Brothers!

Long time lurker and a 40K fan since the days of Rogue Trader. However to my eternal shame I've never been able to put together a decent painted army. I've always liked Space Wolves and the release of the new codex has galvanised me to try and put together a Great Company of my own. To this end I've ordered a Space Wolves Battle Force, some 2 boxes of Assualt Marines (for the running legs) and a box of Ragnar Blackmane's shoulder pads. Hopefully these new purchases, coupled with the mass of unpainted and unassembled marine plastics in my spare room, will be transformed into a force to be proud of.

Wish me luck!

Greetings from the north!

I have lurked this forum for guite some time. I dont really know why i havent registered earlier.

I must say that im a huge fan of the Wolves and my great company (95% painted) is close to 8000 points.

Which im quite proud of.

Hello All,

I'm a new player to 40k got started a few months ago after watching my buddy play. I'd previously read all of the Space Wolves books so for me it was a no brainer on which army to choose. I love their fluff and their combat style. I look forward to getting play and painting tips from my fellow wolfbrothers.

Hail Russ!

Hail Brothers,

I've been playing 40k for about a year now. I started playing with Chaos but the loyalist in me had to get one of the "good guys". Space Wolves fell into my lap after read tons of fluff and I decided SW simply for the Germanic tribe feel for the chapter. I pretty much have a great company thanks to no bills and a steady pay check, hopefully I can post pictures for everyone to view.

Hay Guys!

After being a devote chaos follower for a number of years the new dex and all the goodies that come with it just became too tempting.

(Space Vikings riding huge wolves.......Oh Yes!)

had a blast building my first real SW list and even more fun converting my Chaos termis into tru scale Rune Priests and Lone Wolves.

THough I'm only 2 games in with my army, I'm loving the Jaws of the wolf world, and looking forward to adding to the Saga

Still trying to find a economical way to build my Thunderwolves tho.....

Hail Brother!

After a couple of month reading on this forum, I think it's was time for me to introduce myself. I play warhammer 40k since 6 or 7 years now.

Space wolves since the beginning and Salamander since 1 year. I'm not good at painting but I will probably learn with practice !! If you have any tips

for SW, let me know!

Have a good day guys!

p.s : sorry for the english, not my first language

GreyWolf!!! Glad to see a fellow MWGer! Although I mostly stayed in the shadows over there, still some good stuff.

Brothers,

I am Legacy, new to the bolter and chainsword but i have been reading posts recently and decided to become an initiate of this forum. I have been playing space wolves since just before the new dex arrived. It is also my first army. Normally i play with close friends who got me into the game.

My money is a slight issue and havnt been able to get new models recently, but at the same time have been able to find myself some grey hunters, heros, scouts and long fangs.

So with that said i have had some pretty interesting games. I am still learning, so if you have any comments on what i say then i will be glad to hear all of them.

Now that introductions are out of the way, I will look forward to seeing you all around the fang.

Hail the FangFather, Hail Russ.

Hello there, long time lurker, long time Space Wolves player here.

Started playing 40K in 2002, after building the models for two years out of pure enjoyment's sake. My first army were the Tau - but they lasted only for two months when I first saw the Space Wolves. I immediately sold the blueies and have been a Wolf ever since.

Tried starting several other armies (Death Guard, Eldar, World Eaters, Black Templars, Tyranids, Orks etc.) over the years, but always kept coming back to Russ's Finest. I guess it's the combination of fluff, the outstanding miniatures and artwork that keeps me fixed on the Wolves, along with their "never surrender! never retreat!" mindset.

Or maybe it's because that there are certain similarities to be drawn between me and the Wolves... my friends often say that Space Wolves are MY perfect army, reducing the reasons for this assumption on the so-called "Three B's", meaning "baertig, brutal, besoffen" (that's "bearded, brutal, drunk" in German). ;)

Hi all!

I'm not so new to 40k, more of a returning player! I started playing many years ago back in 2nd edition but soon after the release of 3rd alot of my friends stoped playing and after a while of just painting i stoped too. I originaly picked the wolves as my first real army for a number reasons, the story behind them was awesome, they looked totally different to "normal" marines and well i eventually wanted to try my hand at converting some stuff. I was very successful with my wolf pack, I found they suited my play style of trying to get nice and close to my enemy ( a thing i had to do all to often as my friend a smurf player tended to sit back and shoot all day!) I loved the support from my Long Fangs, the tactical use of Grey Hunters, and the madness of the Blood Claws! A big plus for me was the Wolf Guard, I loved promoting various members of my army to Wolf Guard status after i felt they achieved alot in battle! maybe a little mad but i loved that! Especially my old Blood Claw dual weilding power swords! (more for look than rules!) Eventually i wanted to make him into a Wolf Lord but maybe thats one for the future now!

I have recently moved miles from where i used to live and am in need of a new hobby and maybe something to help meet some new people. I'm not a massive gamer, i like the painting and modeling side more i would say. On Monday I was passing a GW and decided to take a look in, had a brief chat with the guys in store and they seemed a good laugh. They showed me all the new SW gear and i guess now i'm alittle tempted to maybe get my claws stuck in again!

A couple of things perhaps holding me back, i'm starting from scratch again not even any paints or brushes left! For some reason i question if at 27 i'm too old! Crazy i know, and finally money! The hobby has always been expensive, I used to save my dinner money from school and buy models haha! That being said theres nothing like sitting painting with some good music in the background!

I suppose the first step is either the new SW codex, or the boxed game to check out the rules and go from there!

Many thanks for reading my mindless waffle, just wanted to say a good hello to you all!

Marty

Greetings Wolfkin!

I'm very much a young whelp here, just starting out in 40k. I'm an Archaeology student at Oxford and a great lover of all things Norse, down to my Viking beard and hair! Thus, Space Wolves seemed an obvious choice. I'm rather a role-player at heart so was drawn in my the fluff, and stayed for the ale and brawling. I've just started collecting, in the middle of painting my battleforce, which is no mean feat with my current workload, so I don't know how regularly I'll be round here at the Fang, but I'll try my best!

Very excited to join the community!

Hello my fellow brothers.

I am new to 40K here recently and to bolter and chainsword. I've been building my army since space wolves new codex came out. I'm not new to strategy games though. So I think I'll have a firm grasp of the game before too long of playing it. The people I play with here are generally nice. Alot nicer than the last hobby I had. What finally had gotten me into this game was the novels. I liked reading about the space wolves and other astartes chapters.

Hello all fellow wolves.

I have been playing WH40k for a half year or so. I am from Denmark, and I am actually called Heimdal by my friends - just like the god from Norse mythology.

I find the Space Wolves just fantastic, not least the fluff about them - the skills combined with the feral fury is what made me choose them.
