Greetings all!!

I've been prowling the halls of the fang for some time now, but have only recently decided to forsake the shadows to step forth and claim my own flagon of ale.

Started the hobby as many did, lured in by the fantasy line. After what felt like too long I was saved, quite by accident, by witnessing first hand the Wolves of Russ thrashing the Eldar while in a GW. I was hooked. I read the fluff, devoured the pamphlet codex, and started my army. I had an immense amount of fun. The SW are the army you want if you want to build in character, not just cookie cut outs.

Due to financial reasons, I left the hobby for awhile. Upon return, I turned to chaos as I received models from a friend.

But with the advent of the LONG overdue codex, I have returned to smash my foes in the name of Russ and the All Father! :D

Hi I did start the Wolves at the new codex but not because I thought it was super-uber-killy-death. I have always liked marines but not the vanillas, so when the book came out I grabbed it. Ive never looked back.

I also play Dark Angels.

*Steps from the shadows where she had been watching silently, small flagon of ale in hand, and casts a wary glance about the halls of the Fang*

I have haunted the shadows for long enough and thought it high time that I made my greetings. I've recently gotten back into building up a workable army after a number of years limited to mainly fluff. Though my boys wear different colours on their armour; the Silver Fangs show naught but respect for their elder brothers and, in the name of Russ and the Allfather, are (slowly...) gearing up to cut their own sagas from the corpses of the great Enemy.

Until recently I had been an avid Ultramarines player but the army that orginally won my interest in 40k was the Space Wolves. Recently I found myself losing interest in the chapter and the rigidity of its codex. When I first started in the hobby I didnt believe I could paint the SW models well enough to do them justice.

Then the other day a friend provided me with an extra copy of the new codex for SW. It rekindled the enjoyment I once had for the hobby.

The good news my painting skills have improved. The better news is I have a large army already built and just waiting for conversion.

Not meaning to brag but this is what I have already:

AOBR Captain

Chaplain (scrap build)

Librarian

Command Squad Complete (scrap build)

20 Tactical Terminators

7 Assault Terminators

14 Assault Marines (with jetpacks)

18 Devastator Marines (9 actually just bolter marines)

60 Tactical Marines (I can add to the Long Fang squads with the heavy weapons, guess these will be Grey Hunters)

5 Scouts (configured as snipers)

1 Landspeeder (AC and Multi-Melta)

1 Landraider

1 Rhino

1 Razorback (Lascannon & TL Plasma Gun turret)

1 Dreadnaught (CCW, Multi-Melta)

1 Dreadnaught (Missile Launcher, TL Lascannon)

I am thinking of starting with Ragnars Company actually. (Catches and POUNDS down the ale keg with a resounding belch).

The first thing that sticks out to me there: You're going to want to reconfigure those Scouts (or build some new ones), since our Wolf Scouts are an elites choice, and are better used for CC or tank-hunting with their improved Outflank than holing-up and sniping.

Hi there,

I admit that I joined following the new dex. I am a long time BT player and I love my assaulty BTs and swore my next army would be a shooty one. Then the dex came out and as soon as I read the TWC section I was sold. I now have a nice list that YES assaults but add in the Long Fangs, Rune Priests, TWC, Wolf Guard & Lone Wolves and it is so much more versatile and fun to play.

I may have just joined the Fang but I am here to stay.

My Mr. Dandy Thunderwolf models are ordered for my base unit and my Hordes wolves are being painted for Harald's Standard Bearers with the Wolf Lord model being tailored as the Deathwolf himself.

Hi fellow wolves

As a long time stalker of both the hobby and this webiste I thought it was high time I registered and introduced myself!

I have chosen the wolves as my first true forray into the hobby because they seem like the most fun (whilst still being competitive) marine army to play! I love all the fluff and the fact that the Grey Hunters are the ultimate all-round troop choice warriors really fits in to how I see myself operating an army. (I always find myself falling into the jack-of-all-trades niche!)

I have AOBR, a space wolves pack, a scouts pack and two landspeeders on order, to go with around 20 marines, 5 sniper scouts, 5 termies and 2 rhino/razorbacks that I have aquired in the past after some unsuccesful attempts to get into the hobby!

Hopefully I can get some photos up as I go along to show how I'm getting on. I've got an idea for a list with 2-3 squads of grey hunters in rhinos, with 1 or 2 rune priests and each squad having a wolf guard, a small unit of scouts to harass the enemy, some long fangs with missile launchers and lascannons and a couple of 'speeders which should see me into the 1000-1500 bracket as a nice start.

Everyone have a round on me!

steeps out of the shadows he has stalked for some time now of and into the light with a young wolf pup trailing close on his heals. winces as the light hurts his eyes for just the smallest of seconds and Introduces him self to his new battle brothers in the great hall as he dose so he takes a seat beside them all at the long feasting table and takes up his tankard of ale eager to soon have his saga told along side the ones he is hearing this evening.

I've found the intro thread!

I'm new to Space Wolves, or rather considering being new, unless you count poring over the codex and dreaming up my own company, which was always one of my favourite things about 40k.

I used to play Necromunda and Gorkamorka and a bit of WFB and 40k. The new game looks better in lots of ways then when I left it, and there seem to be some people here with a real love of the fluff, and the same way of thinking as me ('mathhammer' for instance is fantastic: people used to look at me strangely when I juggled fractions while eyeing up armies, but now I'm normal! Normal! Mwahahahahaha!)

Anyway. Love the imagery of Space Wolves, and in an odd way the tactical flexibility: to me, each Astares should be able to out-fight and out-shoot his foes, and a tactical marine shouldn't be wrongfooted if an Ork charges. I love Bloodclaws too: I've always wondered why Marines have complex 'training' rather than using prospective initiates as lightly armed shock troops, and this is at least a bit nearer!

Sons of Russ...

Been playing Night Lords for many many years now... I was always satisfied with just one army. I was always "that guy" who had one big army and that was it. But it was cool, everyone knows me and my Night Lords. Anyhoo...

I took the leap a few months ago and started the infamous second army. I just fell in love with the Wolves. I've built up about 1000 points now and have the next 500 all planned out. Sooooooo, just thought I would jump in becuase I will be needing some tips along the road.

I'm also really new to B&C. I've been a looooong time member of another well known forum, but never really expanded my internet forumizations (kinda like only having one army  ) I stumbled on this forum to engage a discussion I found on the Night Lords, but the more I look around I'm really starting to like this place. I think this may be a new home...

Oh, My Wolves are gonna be part of Gunnar Red Moon's Great Company. I love Long Fangs and I love the logo with the skull and the moon. I already made some logos in photoshop that I am gonna try to get printed on transfer paper.

So ya, hey everyone!

I used to be in the hobby a few years back, never really played but just loved the modelling aspect. Decided that I'd like to get into the hobby again now that I've got a decent enough income.

I never really bothered with armies, just converted and painted any set I liked the look of. I got hold one of the old space wolf plastic sets, and instantly loved them. Come on, they're crazy space vikings who tear out the throats of their enemies using their teeth, and who have a walking tank with dementia as the moral compass of their entire chapter. What's not to love?

I've been out of the game for quite some time now but since my local store has started playing again I figured why not. Luckily for me I've come into a large supply of terminators and after looking through the new codex I was over joyed. I can finally run the termie heavy army I've always wanted. So here's to Russ and the Allfather!

Hey fellow wolves, thought id introduce myself.

Have been away from 40k for a while playing fantasy and flames of war but the new wolves were to just to awesome to not start again. Space wolves were my first ever warhammer models so coming back to them with even greater models is pretty sweet. lLoking to kick off Kjarl Grimbloods great company so expect lots of fire! Got my battleforce and termies in the mail with my older wolves taking a simple green bath so should have something to show hopefully in a week or two.

So yea hi
