Andeh
Oh look, second B+C post. Â Ive been out of the hobby for a long time now (Life gets complicated), and I used to have a wolf army, with the old paper thin codex with the bloow claw mincing orks on the cover. I'm back baby! Needed a hobby to take up my (now jobless...) time. :D Â Why am I hitting the wolves up again? Â Beer, Beef, Bjorn, Bolters, Beer. Â Seriously, the fluff marks them out as one of the few forces in the galaxy with an element of compassion, brotherhood, and loyalty to mankind, not necessarily loyalty to the hardline regime and rule currently in place to make sure the imperium isnt gobbled up. Im big into tradition, and I like seeing that they follow the ideas of Russ rather than the codex astartes. At the same time, they will come to the defence of the helpless, and, in my mind, rip the throat out of the enemy vicously and then sing and drink about it that night, whereas a codex chapter would spend 5 hours planning a detailed attack and then spend the evening being boring and sober. Â Simply put, they have an element of deceny and humanity, a bright little human spark in a dark galaxy. Verseau
Welcome to the halls of the wolves (every one of you) :)People over here are friendly, even some of our Long Fangs are ;) Â I would recomend getting the Warhammer 40K rulebook , Codex Space Wolves , a SW battleforce , and something else that intrigues you. ^_^ Â Welcome to Warhammer 40K Â Hi, i just bought SW battle force, its VERY VERY VERY nice, indeed. Â Â the only problem for me now is to find enough time to paint all of that minis, since i have to work 8 am - 5 pm, everyday :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178460-new-aspirants-introduce-yourselves-here/page/9/#findComment-2201095 Share on other sites
Ullr Direfang
the only problem for me now is to find enough time to paint all of that minis, Â ... i have over $3500 in minis (2 40k armies, 2 fantasy armies, and a FOW army) and probably only a quarter of them are painted.... as long as the people around you don't 100% care if they are painted it shouldn't matter. It does feel good once you get guys finished though. saintevil
Hi! Well, I started 40k about 4years ago with CSM. Originally only played with night lords but when the new dex came out, I started to feel the lure of Khorne. I am in the habit of collecting enemy codexes so I may be prepared to face any foe. And I was almost cheated on several occasion by Grey Knights players. So along came the new sw dex and along with it, a limited availability character (if only in south africa), known as Lukas. I got him and a bloodclaw squad going now, and a new found love for my loyalist Khorne Berzerkers! JBFlanz
This is my first dip into 40k. I am a highly competitive WM/Hordes Player, and have never been drawn into the games workshop world. CSM almost grabbed me once, but I was able to get away from getting into the game. When the new Space Wolves codex came out it lloked awesome. The other day I watched a game and decided that buying the codex wouldn't be a bad idea. Today I am looking to pick up the Battle force, some terminators, Njal, and a SM Battle force to compliment my wolves and grab a rhino. I am excited to get going and but some Wolves on the table! jestination
Hey there I just started my space wolves army. I've got a DA army as well, but I really love close combat armies(having an ork army). The new models are really great. The diversity of the army is awesome. I love how they don't adhere to standard space marine army setup. Their background is sweet. I could probably use a million more adjectives to describe the army. I can't wait until I get enough to have a sizable force Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178460-new-aspirants-introduce-yourselves-here/page/9/#findComment-2202005 Share on other sites

Bulweih
Salve Brothers, I just registered and already I like it here. I'm the rare kind of emancipated Daddy-cool who's currently looking after my daughter while my wife brings home the cash. But, as my mum always says it's a unpaid fulltime job, so there's not that much time for painting and stuff. The new SW Modells and the battleforce itself are truly very nicely made. So I just take it step by step, I'm really looking forward to read A thousand Sons and Prospero burns in 2010. So long, I'll go and grab myself an Alehorn :P , Skoll! Aurick
I'm new not only to the Space Wolves but to 40k in general. Â A friend of mine has talked me into playing with him. I've only played a few skirmishes thus far. I've been using his older Black Templar army while he builds and learns his new Eldar army. Finally he had me spend some time looking over the different factions and what not in the 40k universe, as well as speak with a Games Workshop employee to see what kind of faction I was looking for. Â Both the employee and my friend ended up suggesting the Space Wolves, and after reading some of the history behind the Chapter and seeing the figures I agreed. Â So now I sit here with my first box of Tactical Space Wolves. I've only just started to put them together, and I've been trying to get some ideas on what to do and how to play them. This seemed like a good resource to help with that. Geirulfr Frostmoon
Hello all, I've just recently registered onto here after stumbling upon it. I'm also a new 40k player and I've just gotten my first Space Wolves models after a long period of mulling over which faction I should play. (The Blood Angels had an interesting story and the Tyranids with their swarming sounded fun as well. I'm also a huge fan of the lore of the entire 40k universe so I've been looking up on them a lot). Â But after picking up the Space Wolves codex and looking through it as well as checking out more of the stories and fluff that surrounded them, I just immediately fell in love with them especially with how they are stemmed from Norse lore and culture. Â Though my Space Wolves box is still just sitting there currently, once I find the time I'll be working on it soon. Brother Demandred
Well, another new Space Wolf player has entered the fray. Â I just now decided to try 40k out after having played fantasy for the last 8 or so years. I originally wasn't going to go anywhere near space marines because I like to do the less used armies. However after reading through the army book I couldnt help myself. I loved the image of the half feral, viking-esque marines taking the fight to the enemy. I also really like it that the Space Wolves seem to be the rebels of the Space Marines, in that they seem to not give a whip about what the imperium think about them or their practices. Â I did a little research before making my choice of course, gotta say that im a bit confused on some things. Like space wolf drop pods carrying fewer models than normal marine pods, or space wolves not getting some of the cool stuff like thunderfire cannons. Over all though I am super excited to get started fighting the good fight in the name of Russ! Inoki
I did a little research before making my choice of course, gotta say that im a bit confused on some things. Like space wolf drop pods carrying fewer models than normal marine pods, or space wolves not getting some of the cool stuff like thunderfire cannons. Â I think I heard something a while ago about the Wolves' distrust of technology like Drop Pods and whatnot. I could be wrong though. Â Â Yep, I've joined the horde of the wolves recently as well. I played codex marines, and decided to convert some models I wasn't using into wolves and build my own force. My interest in wolves came from seeing one vet play a Wolfpack list, but I will be running a Ragnar list, mostly because after reading the book "Sons of Fenris," Ragnar is probably my favorite character in the 40k universe. Though he hasn't been impressing me too much in the last couple days, he may be replaced with a Rune Priest working in his place. Â Â The lore of the wolves are awesome, and I'm having a blast charging headlong into the fray. FOR RUSS! wolf363839
Long time Space Wolf player and B & C reader, first time posting. Â Good to meet everybody. Â I have a few thousand points, mostly unpainted, that I am slowly but surely working on. I'm mostly here to check out painting tips and look at the occasional army build. Â I've had good success in my small gaming group through the years, and I am 2-0 with the new dex. Big wins over Tau and Orks, both with experienced players. Â Looking forward to learning more, gaming, and painting. Scherdy
Good to see this is definitely not a lonely group! I've been itching to paint and model some guys in power armor after painting eldar for too long. But I wanted some marines with some CHARACTER! So it made it hard to pass up slowly adding some of the new wolves kits whenever I could. I'm fairly new at the playing of 40k (have loved the background and painting for a long time) and am excited to learn from the cantankerous, grizzled lot of you! Right now I'm a little lost in the codex and dying to start putting my wolves together but confused at having so many options and would love any help you have with that. Inoki
While I'm trying to figure out my own army list, I'd be glad to help out if I can :P Â Â I must agree with you, Scherdy, power armor is nothing without character! ralkass
Greetings, I'm new to warhammer 40k and I decided to build up a Space Wolves army when the new models were released. I like painting, so I think SW models are the best for my purpose. Unfortunately I don't have so much time to paint and/or play, but my intention is to paint every single model as it was my general :) Generally I prefer infantry/walkers to heavy tanks. Â See you within the Fang, brothers. Farewell. Doink
Well I'm kinda back from wandering the cold wastes of Asaheim. I started with the Space Wolves back with the first release of Ragnar, Ullrich and the original Grey Hunters etc. Saw the cool new look for the SWs and had to get the codex. Therefore I'm back in business with the new Wolf Pack and Njal. Â By Russ it feels good to be back in from the cold ! Demonslayer
Hi all, Been collecting since the 2nd edition and lost touch by the end of 3rd edition. Now I just need to dig out the wolves, dust em off abit (ok alot) and get them painted to a standard colour. At the moment I have 3 colour schemes and a lot waiting for one. Â Now where did those Orks go, I need to give em a good old bashing and get me a drinking skull, so I can prove myself that I am worthy to be one of the brevren. Jarath
Greetings Wolf-brothers, Â I'm one of the wolves who might have been thought lost to the warp. I'm a son of Russ since 3rd Edition in Ireland but there was a while after I moved to the states where I couldn't find any other players. Been playing again for the last 5 years, Wolves of course. I just decided to join this noble hall again, to trade stories and find out what others think of this godsend of a Codex. Â It was a long time coming. Although I am sad that I can't use Russ's Exterminator anymore, SkyClaws strapped to rockects that don't cost 30pts a model are a funny, terrifying and wonderful sight to behold. Â I'm looking forward to toast many victories in the near future. Â Praise Russ, Â Jarath The Wulfen Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178460-new-aspirants-introduce-yourselves-here/page/9/#findComment-2216762 Share on other sites
