Garden Ninja
Ok, in my old bits box, I found a 1st edition Space Hulk terminator and I decided that I needed to paint it up. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Ypc1ViESDVI/Sq5zGH3peCI/AAAAAAAAAE0/d-9lT9gqydY/s400/Space%20Hulk%20Classic%201.jpg I've also posted more angles here. Argon
Wow. The more things change..... :D Amazing that 20 years or so later, Terminators look very much like this guy. Except, you know, with arms. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178532-classic-space-hulk/#findComment-2111661 Share on other sites
BlOoD_GoD
Wow, so much has changed, it seems the old termies didnt have much variation with their arms, but look at the termies now... so much ahs changed... wow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178532-classic-space-hulk/#findComment-2112237 Share on other sites
Garden Ninja
This is the 1989 plastic terminators, and GW plastic then weren't what they are now. Except that they did have full posibility on their beaky marines... kravi
Ha, nice! I have the same model (with plastic flamer attachment) sitting on the base of my monitor looking at me. Kuchinawa
Oh you just had to bring back the old retro model while we are all putting together our brand new shiny one *laughs* not but really, awesome job dude Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178532-classic-space-hulk/#findComment-2115883 Share on other sites
Mortarion
A classic! And a very well painted one! The model is actually quite ugly, but you managed to make it look good. To be honest, I think this is the best looking version of that mini I've seen. Jambowang
Good paint job, as already mentioned a blast from the past. Saying that I've two squads of these guys that still make an appearance on the Space Hulk board once in a while. Thankfully GW have moved on with the plastics. Anyone who remembers the marines must remember the Librarians from Genestealer. Now they were bad! odinswolf
the plastic libby from the genestealer add on was the reason i DIDNT buy it :o plus the hybrids were terrible.. still got the original space hulk and deathwing, the new set looks amazing tho so cant see the old stuff coming out of the box for many many years Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178532-classic-space-hulk/#findComment-2116544 Share on other sites
Garden Ninja
Oh, those old Hybrids. Ah, those were the days. His face just kind of protruding at such a strange angle. Now, I remember when I got the librarian that I liked him, but eventually I turned him into a poorly converted chaos lord, and I'm sure he hasn't survived past that anyway. Man, I wish I still had one of those guys. It would be tough, but so many kinds of worth it. Now, the new Space Hulk has all of the psionics rules, but it doesn't have any of the hybrid rules, right? And I know it won't have the power armor rules either, so I have to wonder if it is still compatible, and if there is a place I could get those old rules online. ghosty
If you can find the old rules for PA marines and genestealer hybrids they'll be compatible, the current 3rd edition rules are the same as first with the psionics included, the new guard mechanic, and a few streamlined and tweaked rules. Captain Mike
I wish i was around in the 80s. Good music, riots, and the birth of WH40k with such cool models. For some reason I love this model, despite how unposable, poorly cast or whatever it is. Sigh. Never understood why they changed it the original rules >>>>> the 2nd editions ones. Plus do I remember correctly that those termis had ariels on their backs which inevitably snapped off in use (as this one seems to have done :)) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178532-classic-space-hulk/#findComment-2117906 Share on other sites
