the great beaver
I've been building my Wolf lord slowly over 3 years and He's ready to go so I've decided to actually finish an army around him. a lot of this army was already done including the drop podding hunters and the scouts but everything else only every had it's first coat of grey on it if it even had that. My challenge is to finish this army before january so I can participate in the Mini-Astronomicon tournament I'm holding at my store. I still haven't decided who will be my anti tank unit between: 2 landspeeders/5 long fangs/OBEL scouts but I'll be play testing all of them as much as I can and hopefully painting all of them. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01264.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01265.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01266.jpg Small update... a new base for my wolf lord using the rest of the obliterator who's legs I'm using. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01361.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01364.jpg more update: better pictures of each unit that may find it's way into the 1500pt army http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/VLRC.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/VLRC2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/VLRC3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/VLRC4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/Vlandspeeder.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/Vdroppod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/TSkjold.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/TVega.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/Tgrimnr.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/Tscouts.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/Objectives.jpg and here we have images of the entire force except the scouts... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/thunderblood/wip/DSC01349.jpg anything that is primed is stuff that was brand new or had to be redone to fit the new codex. I'm very happy to see that I've got a lot of work to do but not too much. I think I can start painting next week and be really close to done in a month or so. thanks ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178550-wolf-lord-bjarki-thunderblood-and-co/ Share on other sites

Vassakov
My one criticism. The fact its a teaser. Seriously, that looks (from a way away) absolutely awesome. Better shots now, whelp! Vash113
Looks cool, a little bottom heavy with those obliterator legs but until I see more I'd say it looks like a cool and characterfull Space Wolf. Congrats on getting ahold of a new head so quickly too. Nadir
Me like it. But I'm not sure about wolf skin with head on the front. I don't know why. Just something is not right there. the great beaver
My one criticism. The fact its a teaser. Seriously, that looks (from a way away) absolutely awesome. Better shots now, whelp! haha, it's getting better as we speak too :) I just finished putting the old school space wolf metal back pack on that ragnar had with two banner poles that i shortened...I just finished adding the frost blade and the storm shield's GS is drying :) either way: who you callin a whelp? I fought beside the likes of depthcharge when he was a blood claw I'll have you know ;) Vash113: I hear what you're saying and i've done what i can to bulk up the top including adding more shoulder pad and the back pack should help too. I think once you see the left arm on you'll like it more (I hope :P ) Nadir: is it the slight bulge on the left side of his crotch? or does it look like it's too static for the "blowing in the wind" pose I've got it in? by the way here is my parts list: logan grimnar right arm ragnar back pack archon upper body obliterator legs space wolf torso belt space wolf back torso wolf pelt terminator left arm+ custom shield (not completed) new space wolf sprue head thanks for the comments ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178550-wolf-lord-bjarki-thunderblood-and-co/#findComment-2111779 Share on other sites
powa bear
How hard was it to do the armor on the chest? And what did you do for the coils? This seems like a good build for my wolflord, don't worry though I perfer my wolflord with another head. Kaldoth
An excellent model! I like it a lot :( My only crit is the chestpiece seems kind of bare. Maybe adding an aquila? This seems like a good build for my wolflord, don't worry though I perfer my wolflord with another head. the armour on the chest was actually not as hard as the rest of it since it doesn't have any detail yet. the coils are guitar wire. Kaldoth: I'm going to engrave the chest edging and add runes on each "peck" hopefully that spices it up a bit. ES: I'm the manager of TheConnectionGames.com store #2...I didn't break the street date...this is a...ummm...demo...yeah, demo for the store! Vash113
Ok now I see it with the left arm and the shield and all it looks MUCH better and very, very, very cool. Really reminds me of Wolf Guard Ranulf actually... Can we see a comparison shot to a regular power armored marine just for kicks? Vassakov: thanks for the kind words I haven't put this much effort into a mini ever and he's going to be the centre piece of my army :) Ell Scotcho: you'll be happy when you see the sprue as it's got some really great stuff on it  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178550-wolf-lord-bjarki-thunderblood-and-co/#findComment-2112139 Share on other sites

Tsuro
Awesome work, That is going to an impressive Wolf Lord. I especially like how you've cut down the old ragner backback and turned the pole-ends into icons. Unfortunately, his left arm being longer longer than his right really sticks out for me. I presume this is caused by the new terminator plastics being out of scale with the older Logan Grimnar model. I don't imagine you'll want to change it, especially if you're about to start painting, but you could switch in a power armour arm fairly easily and swap hands without too much fuss. If you trim down the power cord you could even carry that over as well. If that all sounds like too much bother please don't worry about it, I'm probably just over-sensitive to these things. the great beaver
thanks guys! as for the arm lengths, I can't really see it in person...in the picture I can see what's causing it though...I measured the arms and made sure they were the same length, but one arm is attached directly to his torso and the other is attached to the shoulder which is slightly off his torso...in person though it's not noticeable so I'm going to leave it...when I take pro pics of it I'll angle him a little to make it less apparent <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178550-wolf-lord-bjarki-thunderblood-and-co/#findComment-2112662 Share on other sites

Vash113
Compared to the Long Fang yea he's not that much taller, but just picturing him standing straight he'd tower over the poor Long Fang by quite a margin, heck he looks about the right size for a model of Leman Russ and of course still reminds me of Ranulf. Anywho very cool looking and I look forward to seeing it painted! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178550-wolf-lord-bjarki-thunderblood-and-co/#findComment-2113112 Share on other sites
