History little one? The history is too rich for me to divulge in it's entirety but we've been serving the Imperium loyally since the founding of the first chapters. We drove the treacherous Thousand Sons from their homeworld and have always been there, we were there at Armageddon and many other crucial battles. But as said, too much to reveal in one short answer, particularly to someone outside of our chapter.

Play style, we're more aggressive than normal marines, masters at close range combat, hence why our hunters are so equipped.

And if you decide to join our ranks then welcome!

Your name! You chopped Berek's arm off!

On topic.

What Mikal said.

'Raises stein'

Welcom to the Fang and have an ale!

1. You will probably get different answers from the various Wolf Lords but in my opinion our play style is to close rapidly with the enemy using grey hunters etc, shoot if possible and then charge. You can either use pods or other transports like rhinos to acheve this.

2. I think one of Rune Priests will be able to tell you a better story than me but a good place to start is the resources stickied to the top of this forum. They make very good reading for Blood Claws like yourself. I would also recommend getting hold of the Space Wolf novels and if you can find it our 2nd edition codex.

3.

Get the new codex first and have a good read to figure out which units you like the look of. It will also give you a decent history of the Space Wolves.

Construct an army list and post it in the army list forum so you can get some constructive advice. Grey Hunters and a couple of IC's are going to be essential, I think.

Be prepared to lose a few games at the start as you learn the ropes, but do not worry as you will soon get the hang of it. In my opinion, this is an army that once you get bitten you will never be able to leave entirely :) . This should happen after you have read the fluff and get a few games under your belt.

Post an intro about yourself in the topic at the top of the page and enjoy your stay in one of the best communities on the 'net.

Cheers

Thorgrim

May take on this is that before you even think of starting a SW army, wait until you've read the codex. If the fluff is to your liking then proceed and do what Thorgrim Blackwolf has wisely posted above, play a few games to get the feel of it.

But I stress the fluff part. You'll enjoy your hobby more if you get into the spirit of the chapter, otherwise there's always the blandmarines or was it the ultramarines, I keep on forgetting.

Well if your coming over from iron warriors youll find were more CC oriented, just as maverick compared to our associates in arms, and entirely different in playstyle- though our core units are similar.

Though I do throw out the idea of perhaps a Xenos race, like Orks or Tyranids would be a bit farther out from IW and theres always an open slot for a xenos player.
