Beef
Did you drybrush these models?? If you did what colour did you use for a base coat?? Always black line models or darken the recesses Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178570-they-are-done/#findComment-2111888 Share on other sites
Florida Gator
base coat black, shadow grey, drybrush of space wolves grey. inspired by irondogs studios. I know they could be better, but as stated, my camera and horrible photography don't do them justice. They look better in person. Beef
Ok I know drybrushing is easy and fats (i did my ultra that way) but with SW they can look a bit chalky, Try painting them, trust me the affect will be even better, especially if you start with a chaos black undercoat and the paint either fenris grey or shadow grey on top leaving the black in the armmour line ect. This way you wont have to black line the model after wards. Hrathnar Flintfang
Looks better than I can do, though similar in a way. Hard to belive they aren't codex Grey, that's what I've been using and my figures end up looking about the same. Night Runner
Great job Gator. Loved the runes on the first. You've got a steady hand. Are you going to put decals on the blood claws? I noticed some don't have any. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178570-they-are-done/#findComment-2112130 Share on other sites
Florida Gator
well night runner, i would, however i hate how they turn out, never flat on the shoulder pads. However, I was thinking either A) runes on each BC's shoulder... or:  Freehanding a great company symbol. still need to decide on one... Anyway, Cheers! Then you need to use decal solution it softens up the decal, and when drying it stretches into place. You can buy it at any model hobby store. You might have to apply several solutions but I assure you it works. I could not have done mine without it. But runes in my opinion are just as nice, especially if they come out like the one you did. Florida Gator
thanks. You think i could get this solution at a craft store? not sure of any hobbie stores round these parts... but i tend to be ok at freehanding so i might also try that out. cheers! ales all around! Florida Gator
Really liking the look of BC 9. Good work all around. Thanks man. He's one of my favorites too. @ acid burn: Thanks, I used the fantasy chaos warriors legs i picked up at the last gamesday. they had a belt on it, so what i did was cut the clip off the space marine belt, and was surprised to find that the belt buckle on the chaos legs fit really well into the place of the marine's clip! from there i filled the gap between the legs and torso with a nice blob of greenstuff, then smoothing it out to look natural. Also, I'm really surprised none of you have noticed that the wgbl's helmet isn't a normal marine helmet! I'll give an ale to whoever can guess what head i used. Hint: I had to cut something off of it, and file it down Cheers!
