dublindawg
I really need to stop playing with the new pups at the Fang. As this will be my first delve into the Space Wolves ranks, I cannot wait 2+ weeks for the new miniatures and codex to come out. I need to get my hands on bits and marines and wolves and bits and ales and.....ugh. So I broke down and ordered my first Space Wolf Priest off the GW site and 2 sets of Grey Hunter shoulder pads. With any luck it will keep me busy converting unused SM preppin' them for new heads and SW bits. I might even have to convert an old Ork buggy into a keg truck for the SW victory parties. OnlyInDeath
I might even have to convert an old Ork buggy into a keg truck for the SW victory parties. You will be required, by the edict of "And they shall show all badass conversions", to post a pic of that when you are done, possibly even WIP for some ideas. :P welcome to the fang. Personally, i'm looking at what I need to do to round out my mechanized list to the new rules so that I can get on starting up my 2nd great company! It may mean hundreds of dollars more, but I would love to have 2 full companies :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178621-got-an-itch/#findComment-2112519 Share on other sites
El Scotcho
Yes,you must show us that conversion when you finish it. I'll even give you a keg of the special homebrew to get you started. dublindawg
I should be able to even represent a small keg of homebrew on the vehicle. While running over to the local hobby store at lunch time to check out the codex (which they claim to have a store copy by tomorrow) I was thinking of ways to convert the buggy into the keg truck, but also a way to make it fit into the overall army and useable in play. With that in mind, using the parts from a AB kit and the conversions to the frame of the buggy, I can make it a modified attack bike with plenty of room for kegs on the back. Now if it comes out looking good, then I will do a 2nd one so I can field an AB squad. I can probably have the basic mock up done tonight or tomorrow evening, with a picture on here by then and the whole vehicle done over the weekend. The only downside will that the actual marines for it will be a WIP until the new kits come out in 2 weeks. El Scotcho
Sorry to inform you bud, but no attack bikes squads for us. We can only take them as an add on to a swiftclaw biker squad. dublindawg
well then, one attack bike and a squad of swift claws on bike it is. The swift claws can protect the ale for the after battle parties. Night Runner
WHAT!!!!!! no squads of attack bikes? Surely you just..... Otherwise I think I might actually be PISSED. No. No jesting. We don't have them but they can be attached to the SwiftC pack. Also the attack bikes are cheaper cause they have BC states and not GH. Still pissed? Vanger
You got an itch? I have that itch since I knew for sure that Wolves will be coming out this year... But I think it is worth waiting. The new plastic models look fantastic and I'm pretty sure, I won't be disappointed, when I get my paws on them B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178621-got-an-itch/#findComment-2113643 Share on other sites
dublindawg
Ok, I got some work done last night. dublindawg
Well here are the first set of pictures. The base model I am using for the attack bike/keg hauler is an ork buggy from the old gorkamorka box set. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033375&id=1439607047#/photo.php?pid=30687696&id=1439607047 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033...p;id=1439607047 I then removed the central drive shaft and inserted the foot plate from bike. The original seat was meant for 2 orks. I also removed the side walls on the back and will be re-positioning them in a more vertical alignment. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033375&id=1439607047#/photo.php?pid=30687698&id=1439607047 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033...p;id=1439607047 The conversion is a lot further along, but I left my cell phone in the car and I was too busy to go back out and get it to take pics at the end of the night. Incase the above links don't work click here. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033...mp;l=3cfb6ca199 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178621-got-an-itch/#findComment-2113898 Share on other sites
dublindawg
Ok, I have a few more pictures of the AB:attack buggy with kegs in my album. I cannot load pictures directly here at work, so take a look. Still needs a lot of work that I plan on doing tonight. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...&album=4053 Edit: added a link to the album Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178621-got-an-itch/#findComment-2122585 Share on other sites
El Scotcho
That is going to be one incredibly badass mini. I'm curious about one thing though, How are you going to model the marine in the back protecting the booze?
