New upgrade Characters

So what does everyone think about the new upgrade characters in the codex? I have been looking through the codex reviews and if what I see is right these two could be maybe the biggest bargains in the codex. I think that Arjac could become a staple of wolf guard units, he is basically a better version of lysander with 1 less wound for 30 points fewer!!!! Will he get his own model like lukas? What are the thoughts of the experienced wolves?

We might see a model for him in the second wave. Although I doubt it would be difficult to customize our own!. And on the points for value of him, he's a fantastic asset to hold in a WG Force under Logan. Hopefully when used he will return his points in kills for Russ!

He also cannot be singled out in combat, like an independent character can.

Valerian

Haven't read it, but honestly I feel the same about all named/canon special characters. I don't like them, I don't use them and I really kind of wish they would have given us Ironclads and Dreads as HQ instead, or at least let us take more than one Saga.

But hay, that's just one brothers opinion.

I think Arjac is cool. The name kinda reminds me of Ajax... the good one, not the bad one from Greek mythology who was a cool dude. I might use Arjac in game, but I will be staying away from the blasted leprechaun that is Lukas... grrr....

Unless I make my own model for him... hmm...

I'm liking what I see of both. I'll be getting them. Besides I think Lukas has my kind of a sense of humor.

I'm not much for Lukas, and it doesn't look like I'm going to be using regular Blood Claws anymore anyway. Will continue to use my SwiftClaw pack, and might add a SkyClaw pack, but I've decided to turn my old Blood Claws into a Wolf Guard pack for Ragnar to run with- 18 points each +20 for 2 power weapons and they'll all get 3+d3 attacks on the charge at S5 and I5. You just can't beat that deal.

I will, however, use Arjac as the "hidden" leader for my Wolf Guard in TDA. He's just like my old WL from the early 90s, and is going to rock when he gets in close combat.

Yup, he is in termi armor

Perfect. I have a box of asssault terminators I bought for my old Ultramarine army so I'm going to fix them up to be Wolves. Remove one wolf claw for an assault cannon and turn the old sergeant of that squad into Arjac. Then I'll make 5 more Wolf Guards to disperse into the GH packs.

How will bodyguard packs work in 5e? Like honor guards in C:SM or will I have to take from a 3-10 Wolf Guard Elite choice?
