Wolf Guard Dan
I agree, waiting is the hardest part. I told my local GW manager that it's nice to be able to look at the new SW codex but it's evil of them to make us wait a month to get our hands on it ourselves. I am waiting until I get my own copy to read all the great fluff and I am trying to plan how I will build on to my modest space wolf army. Think I may try a unit of thunderwolf calvary but I will wait until 2nd to see if some models are released. Hrathnar Flintfang
Listening to tom petty, same as you apparently brother. Seriously though I am doing some major work on my poor painting and sculpting skills, uisng my old models as templates and trying to cut, pin, sculpt, paint, glue, and do anything else i can to up my skills. Its actually more work than I have done in the past twelve years with regards to models. I am also setting up a proxy army of my old legos, using them as rough but passable targets to test out my old strategies to their fullest so that when the new dex comes out I will be able to match things up easily. Also trying to cast a few custom bitz with liberal use of D&D minis, cut bitz and wahtever else I can find using some mighty putty which I found out the hard was is inferior in every way to greenstuff. Too bad too considering how much of it I got for ten bucks. Natanael
Re-building my army. So far 3x7 GHs, 3 WGs, 5 WG Terminators, 6 Scouts, 1 Dread and 1 Land Speeder is awaiting paint. I'm never gonna get them ready in time ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178688-waiting-is-the-hardest-part/#findComment-2113531 Share on other sites
Vash113
Early retrofits and modifications for the upcoming codex. Including adding 2 Grey Hunters, 2 Wolf Guard and 1 Wolf Scout. I'll wait to rip power weapon/fist arms off till I get a full and uninterrupted read through the new codex. Other than that I'm just trying not to watch the clock, that just makes time seem to go slower. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178688-waiting-is-the-hardest-part/#findComment-2113536 Share on other sites
lokeiSHP
Personally doing a full blown repaint on the army as well as rebalancing the squads. SW were the first army I played, so I have many minis that could do with a much cleaner look, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178688-waiting-is-the-hardest-part/#findComment-2113542 Share on other sites
El Scotcho
Making my army list, for I luckily enough have nearly unfettered access to the new 'dex (not to brag or anything). Also perfecting my great companies paint scheme, using some plucky ex Sternguard volunteers (My next guy is going to receive my first attempts at greenstuffing a wolf pelt). HerrMajor
Just simply painting my GH squad. I have been putting it off for so long for fear of ruining my models and mainly cause I feel burnt out a bit after work. I am finally busting back into gear after realizing I wont improve if I don't take risks and I should view painting my models as something relaxing and fun as opposed to something I "just have to get done." I am really looking forward to the new codex, I try not to read some of the spoilers in this forum about the new models and rules since I want to keep it a surprise when the codex comes out. One last Huzzah before the new codex and god only knows how many people will jump on my codex then... got to enjoy it now. Theres a couple of guys I wont mind who might go SWs, but theres two of them who seem to grab every new army and just go off with the "cheesiest" list that they can find on the net, and then they get frustrated when they dont win tournaments- because its not the list, its the skill. Wich means I am the devil. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178688-waiting-is-the-hardest-part/#findComment-2113603 Share on other sites
Night Runner
I'm rebuilding my core packs, GH and BC and rhinos. I won't buy anything else until the dex comes out. If there is one thing I hate is 'editing' my models to bring them in line with the rules. It ruins the paint job. In the meantime I trying to gleam all I can from the net about the codex. LPetersson
I'm mostly reading B&C while contemplating whether my local GW store manager would let me take photos of the codex :-D Also thinking about what units to get when the codex come out. Only a week and a half to go brothers... ARGH! Lord Howland Greywolf
Re- reading the space wolves omnibus and dreaming, praying, hoping that there is some way that Oct would get here sooner. greese_m0nkey
Well I am prepping for a mega battle where I am part of a team representing my local G.W. store; it is at the L.A. Battle bunker. I get to go down tonight to the store and write up my first new army list using the new dex. The battle is 5000 points per player. Around 15 players to each team so it should be interesting. After that just updating my squads to fit the new dex. Plus plan what I want to add to my already 7500 point army. DGC
Well I'm trying not to get too unhappy as I have to wait for release day for the dex. I don't know anyone that can even give me a glimpse so there is no point for me trying to re-shuffle my squads as I don't know the point / options for definate. So I am killing time painting up a Rhino and an A/C Razorback, they should be fine come dex day. Also reading O.I.D's awesome 'Wolf Scout' installments. To be honest, I am equally impatient for both. I have also arranged a 'Fairwell Codex' game with my mate on the 29th so will be brushing up a list for that. Vs DA so I can't think of a better to way to move on. pstj
Just placed a preorder on Maelstrom Games: codex, canis with a box of terminators and generic space wolves each. Waiting is bearable since I've done something to ease my pain :) On 3rd of october I'm hosting a small tourney for five friends at my house. Besides the odd game or two the whole weekend will be a feast of grilled dishes, sahti for drink and sauna heated up pretty much 24/7. A manly fest suited for the sons of Russ! Warhorse47
Got a couple last games lined up using the 13th Company and will finish up my Vindicator.
