spectre312
So, I did mention my new grab the other day. Some of the stuff has been arriving, and I find myself wondering, exactly how much does it matter to wolves to all be the same kind of grey.... As it stands my squads are painted to a few different colors to be sure. Some are the more bright old colors, some are a very dark, sinister chaos black/codex grey with a black wash look. I sort of enjoy the random piece meal colorings of my wolves... but from a fluff prospective, would it be nessecary to repaint them all? Although, if I do repaint them, they're getting custom Great Company colors. I'm not feeling like repainting that much grey and yellow so consistently. Night Runner
The great thing about SW is that they are warriors before soldiers, and individualists before rank&file. So having wolves painted in different shades is not so far off fluff-wise in my opinion. But I prefer an overall unifying colour theme. Also I try to keep yellow to a bare minimum. The only yellow in my SW army will be in the BC and WG pack markings. That's all, no more no less. spectre312
I guess repainting would be good. Atleast to get a somewhat unified theme. I haven't painted any wolves since I finished up my old army and made my Flesh tearers... I think I might just Keep going with that two tone color scheme the FT's have. I like the chest/helmet being different. Do a nice dark grey lower body and arms, and a black torso/helmet. I might even cut the yellow of the shoulder pads entirely... I suck at painting yellow anyways. Thanks guys! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178708-repainting-my-new-squads/#findComment-2113826 Share on other sites

El Scotcho
I think that yes it would be okay to have randomly colored packs, as long as they all have the same wolf lords sigil on the same shoulder pad, you should be all right. Think of it this way, do you think the iron priests have time to make sure that the paint formula is the exact same every time, with the amount of weapons and wargear (not to mention transport vehicles) that they have to fix every day? I know I personally wouldn't give a damn, and actually when I fix peoples air conditioners I don't worry about it unless they do (as long as its working that is). So the jist of all this rambling is, if you can't stand to look at them, repaint them. Otherwise it'd be pretty cool to leave them as is.
