Bjorn the Fellhanded...

Ok, so not a question about his usefulness, but about his gear. Does he still have a lightning claw or is it a normal DCCW?

I'm not one of those people blessed with an early copy of the codex, and although I have perused it in GW (The Plaza, London in case any B&C wolf brother go there) I can't recall what it says, but I think it didn't mention it(?)...

I was about to turn an Iron Clad Dreadnought ;) into a Bjorn Model, but I don't really want to give him the wrong arm...

(I'm still really annoyed that we don't get ICDs)

;) quick hijack :P is he an H.Q choice??

cheers

Yes.

And on the Bjorn weapon question.

Assault Cannon, Dreadnaught CCW (with Built in Heavy Flamer) This is his base loadout.

May replace the Assault Cannon with a Plasma Cannon or TL Lascannon,

 quick hijack  is he an H.Q choice??

Groovy, thanks :D

I'll probably make two different versions of him and glue the guns in place as I really hate swapping weapons...

You could always magnetize the arms. Wouldn't be too difficult.. especially on a dreadnought :)

True, but it bugs me to do that...

I'm with ya on that brother. all my arms are glued. Those dreads are exactly as the Emperor intended it, damnit! :P

Bjorn - 270pts

13/12/10

Venerable

AC may be swapped for: PC for free -or- LC for 20pts

I do believe his DCCW also counts as a wolf claw(?)

the 5+ Invul will come in handy too as will the ability to re-roll for turn and setup

I'm still up in the air as to how often I will actually field him though, simply due to his points cost for an armor valued unit (even with venerable and 5+ invul, its still armor).

Not sure that you can post that (the rules)...

I have the OLD (read - 2nd ed) Bjorn model.. complete with back banner. They re-used it for the old SW Ven Dread, minus back banner. Now.. I am not sure if I want to use that, or just wait for the resculpted model to come out.

I was told they would not resculpt him. He is what he is. And Logan is what he is and the crappy Ragnar is what he is. No new resculpts cause the guy that does 90% of marine sculpts still thinks they look good. Logan is ok, but come on Ragnar is a joke at best. And was amazing when I bought him in the really early 1990s. Now? Come on.

i have the very same model...great chunk of metal..

i have heard aswell that there wont be a re-sculpt but that forgeworld will be releasing there own venerable dread..and there was talk of a ltd etd forgeworld s.wolves dread

Hes still pretty good. Just as detailed as the plastic SM commander...

And our Iron Priest- hes amazing. I have no idea how they did that back in the day... but they did good.

I think the big issue is that he is in the X pose that all the old heroes in aka static.

Eh? *shrugs* And theres only two pairs of legs in a tactical box. It never bothered me personally- it reminds me of that Artwork of Leman Russ with his brothers in how hes standing, I always thought it was a great allussion to the old Leman Russ model... sadly OOP now.
Having flipped through the models section of the codex, I think Ragnar, Bjorn and the hammer guy will be redone, since they don't have a picture in the codex, and Grimnar does. Plus, I don't think they'll be able to justify having Bjorn, the greatest dreadnought in the Imperium, in a standard dreadnought body. Especially with a seperate Venerable dreadnought being sold.

Actually there is a picture of Ragnar in there...

Oh, must've skimmed that bit. Thats a shame, he deserves a new model.
