Toyed around with many armies.

First off I would like to start with that I'm buying AoBR box sets and converting the marines into SoB. They are solid plastic one (well three) piece models that should be easy enough to meddle with. The other parts will go to different armies, the dreads to a Apoc force, the orks will be turned into LatD mutants and the terminators are going to be made into true scale marines I intend on trading away.

That leaves the 10 dudes for me to turn into chicks. (Pun line, no offense)

I will be getting my worth out of every box, and with the trades I'll be getting roughly 70 sisters to meddle in a 1250 point force. I prefer sisters with helmets and dynamic poses.

The playstyle will represent tech-ish style sister force not loyal to the imperium. I've meddled with loyalist marines for so long, buying them, trading them away, I decided I will never be a loyalist. Since having a sister superior/etc is the requirement of using the faith points, I figure I will turn her into a type of techpriest. The tech only available for her to use, since safety devices will prevent the tech from being stolen.

So my problems are these:

-Anyone have tips on modelling SoB out of pure plastic marine models (mainly AoBR if possible)?

-Tips on fluff-devices that are close (and possibly already mentioned in 40k fluff) to represent the sisters faith skills by tech?

-I am aware I could add 2 scout squads as a marine force, a master of the forge to use the 6 dreadnoughts, however I don't see the fluff relation between dreads and SoB, any tips?

-I heard the updated rhino rules (35 pt ones) are in a Imperial Armor Book, is this true and which one? (Mainly the one that my sisters could replace their old cost one with?)

Machine spirit sisters of battle. No relation with skitarii since not every forge world will abide by the other forge world's doctrines, they are rivals after all.

trim and sculpt leg plates and shoulder pads, head swap maybe from female models. Get sculpting or just go eBay and buy ten cheap sisters. Other idea use the marine as INQ and retinue.. acolytes in power armor ( thats 4 PA guys). Or just induct them as a marine squad.

Maybe a renegade force /pirate raider group searching for archeotech stuff

Hand of the emperor : combat drugs

Divine guidance: targeters and ammo upgrade

The Passion: temporal shift

Light of the emperor: neural link implant

Spirit of the martyr: Forcefield projection/ phase shift

On dreads turn one into Inquisitor Karamazov look alike, or a penitent engine.

I know a guy on The tyranid hive and Warpshadow who made SoB out of marines(Maybe just one, but meh)

It looked really good actually. And besides, I've never gotten how the stripper-suit(with fleurs) SoB tend to have give them a 3+ save anyway.

You could always try, if it fails, well then it fails, just call it the side-effects of gender changing.

As for the other stuff, I don't know.

I personally don't think that SoB would stray away from their religion but, that's just me.

Cheers!

I think of my Dreads as remotely controlled vehicles, the operator could be in the droppod or even in orbit. This might be of use to the poster who started the thread about White Scar dreads.

As to the renegade faith issue, just because a religious group deviates from the mainstream does not mean they lack faith; ask any religious extremist! If anything, such heresy requires greater devotion than just accepting whatever you are told.

The original dream of the Emperor's crusade has been so warped by the Ecclesiarchy that a group of Sisters could easily come to the opinion that loyalism is no longer pious; their faith demands that they break away from the Imperium.

My chapter, The Broken Hearted, is made up of marines that have lost faith in the Imperium in exactly this way: those that have deserted their legions are found and recruited by Sasha into her army of the lost. (Ronin?)

Well with marines its better to have extra bits to cut off then to have spots to build up. Model-wise I think if I lop the limbs off it will give me a better perspective to slim down the legs, re-carve the chest and abdomen. I think I'll just feel around since they are solid mini's.

(No jokes please, I just realized that could be go very wrong after re-reading it.)

The dreads maybe just piloted normally. I may re-devise the center of the torso to implement that its piloted by something different then a cyber-corpse. (no pun intended....) The two troops I've pinned down to having two small outflanking powerfist scout units with bolters. (If they're charging a tank they don't have much to charge with) and maybe a combi-flamer on the sergeant, since charging with 3 attacks that auto-hit rear of a tank is enough. Balancing out the BS3 bolters a bit.

Filling out the sister units, I came across having a land raider crusader tally 16 of them around. Being similar guns-wise to the sisters, I think it would be a nice center piece later on.

The true scale marines out of terminators though, may be turned into better looking chaos terminators considering a pal requested it... (yeah you know who you are, you owe me for those 20 marines I painted!~teasing)

Ronin is a name for a soldier who has either lost his way normally from losing a battle and fleeing or otherwise dishonored by their superior officer and left, or loyally followed a commander who lost his life in battle or was captured and inducted into the enemy army (which the soldier does not follow), or his commander is forced to commit seppoku (SP?) where the officer takes his own life by slicing his abdomen, and then he is quickly beheadded by the one who captured him. (Normally knocked off a horse, and then humbly taken in since seppoku is the only way to pay for the honor)

Explained properly I hope..
