the great beaver
okay so how does the new unit of wolf guard being split and attached to other units give out control points? do they create a new control point for each guy you break off to join other units? what's the deal? Grey Mage
Step back... What are control points? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178782-wolf-guard-control-points/#findComment-2114869 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
Step back... What are control points? Kill points, I'm guessing and I have a feeling if you attach WG to a squad he count as part of that squad for kill points purposes, otherwise pretty much every squad would give out two kill points or even three with a transport, and I can't see them making it so that you have to kill every member of the WG pack. Vassakov
I'm guessing he means Kill Points. This is actually a good point, as I can see the RaW junkies having a hernia over the WG rules. I believe that a WG as a Pack Leader is to all intents and purposes part of that unit, and so will give up a kill point only when he and his unit are destroyed. A unit of Wolf Guard would function as an entirely separate unit, and so give up a separate point when they die. EDIT: What Mikal said, ninja! EDIT the second: Lobbed this one at YMDC at Dakka, for an unbiased and RaW opinion. Grey Mage
Well... thats how it currently works, and this system is otherwise identical- just the squad size was lowered and the 0-1 was lifted. I dont see why that would change. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178782-wolf-guard-control-points/#findComment-2114904 Share on other sites
Vanger
Same as with Eldar Warlocks attached to certain units. They are an inseperable part of the unit. Grey Mage
Ahh... but that changed with the 4rth ed codex- now theyre either unit upgrades OR a unit unto themselves. No more detaching. Vassakov
Ahh... but that changed with the 4rth ed codex- now theyre either unit upgrades OR a unit unto themselves. No more detaching. Hence the potential problem with WG. The way I see it, there are 3 possible readings: 1. A WG becomes a member of the squad (see above) 2. WG split from the squad count as "separate" both from the parent unit of WG AND the pack they are leading, and thus concede a KP to themselves. 3. A WG is still a member of the parent squad - all must be killed to concede the point. I feel 1 is the most logical, but RaW may disagree with me... Max_Dammit
Raw i would say 3 but game wise 1 is the best solution Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178782-wolf-guard-control-points/#findComment-2114998 Share on other sites
