Ashdown
Just currious if this would a be a good purchase? I love the look of the new models; just not sure if this a would a be good starting package to get my start for Space Wolves. Thanks, Ashdown Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178804-new-space-wolves-battleforce/ Share on other sites
Night Runner
I think it would be an excellent start. First you get two troop choices (GH or BC), you always get a vehicle (like a rhino or drop pod) and an elite or fast attack choice (In the last battle force we got a bike sqadron). Also the price is cheaper than buying them seperately and the troop choices are usually all viable ones that are used most frequently. Aeddon
Can also make WG; WGBL and WL with the box set. IMHO it's a fantastic buy! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178804-new-space-wolves-battleforce/#findComment-2115370 Share on other sites
El Scotcho
Well there's one less thing to worry about then, because I preordered 4 of those and 2 of the wolf guard terminators and bjorn and canis, and 2 seperate boxes of the wolf bitz. So by my math that means I only need 4 rhinos, some land raiders, some crusader sprues, and 2 tactical squad boxes, and 2 devastator boxes. Hopefully I can afford all this, because I don't think I wanna hit the streets to make money on my "performances". Thorgrim Blackwolf
Grab a pair of them and a few of the other SW/SM boxes and you have the core of your army, if not most of a 1500/2000pts army. All in all, our battleforce is excellent value. WG Vrox
though i have a feeling that its going to be 1 space wolf box and a tactical marine box as well as scouts and the drop pod. I hope not, after putting together a pack of the 10 new GH, there are not enough bits to make a box of marines and the 5 marine scouts wolfy enough. I don't think they would do that, but then again it is GW and if they have overstock of marines they very well may. WG Vrox. SamaNagol
I intend to get 2 of them. Even without using the Scouts, it is still a good saving. 2 boxes of Space Wolves and a Drop Pod individually is £58 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178804-new-space-wolves-battleforce/#findComment-2119412 Share on other sites

Even without using the Scouts, it is still a good saving. 2 boxes of Space Wolves and a Drop Pod individually is £58 Well I think it will be £55-60 range like the Guard Battleforces and the new Empire Battalion, because wayland are offering it at the regular battleforce price, but that might be because they are unsure of retail price. I'm not too keen on the drop pod, but I'm sure I'll be able to sell them. Hfran Morkai
It is advertised in this month's white dwarf as £50 I stand corrected. Thank you for that bit of information, I have not seen this month's edition. I guess Wayland were probably doing it to cover their backs and will probably drop the price then. I'm glad to see it hasn't creeped up like the other new boxes. Now to find someone who wants drop pods. SamaNagol
You should hold on to them. Grey Hunters will be rather nasty using Drop Pod Assault. And Terminators. And Dreadnoughts. I'm not a fan of drop pod lists. Doesn't fit my fluff as a Lord of an armoured company. And they are too bulky for my carrying solutions. However I might keep hold of it considering that it would be "free" so it wouldn't be like I'm losing money. I am not looking forward to scratch building 2 of them. That's the thing, although many people (including a chap featured in White Dwarf) use standard pods as dreadnought pods by not installing the control node or harness system, but I don't think it looks right. And the Forge World ones are interesting with their rules, the dread can assault on the turn it arrives. Obviously you need to have a copy of the book and be able to use it but it's nice. Zemox
I am doing an all footslogging army so i wont be getting any battleforces. Wich suits me perfectly considering that when i order from maelstromgames i need to make it under 20Pounds else i get another 20Pounds in tariff aswell as a 15% in Taxes.
