Rummy
I'm writing fluff and designing the model for my WB Lord! Through all his back story he shall recieve four gifts from the four major Gods at seperate points. I'm looking for advice on what would be an appropriate gift from each God and maybe some help on explaining how/or what he must do to recieved these gifts. The one thing I'm trying to avoid is him being mutated to any big degree so only minor mutations or at least mutations which won't change his normal physique. My last note is that I'm not trying to make my lord the biggest badass in the Galaxy and I'm trying to give him more of a human feels aswel. My thoughts on each gift: Tzeentch- The lord has been gifted with minor Foresight. Can't see far and clearly into the future like Eldrad Ulthran but can has more of a "Spider Sense" :P! Slaanesh- A more light agile armour which doesn't compromise it's Power Armour like toughness, strength or protection ! Khorne- A Mighty weapon (But thats as far as I have gotten on that one) Nurgle- This one I found hard as I can only think of a gift from Nurgle really changeing his human apperance so maybe some sort of Change in his flesh which makes it tougher without actually makeing him a 'blistering maggot house'.. Maybe just a skin discolouration! Other wise Nurgles gift may come in the form of an item without mutating him. But I can't think what the item might be as armour and weapon have already been used. Thanks for any help! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178809-gifts-from-the-gods/ Share on other sites
Important
I like the Tzeentch idea but make it not that far in to the future he comes out more of a sorc then. Make it he can see in to the future more in battles, he sees what is going to hit him and where etc. Slaanesh is pretty good don't got a better idea myself. :P Khorne - make it that he slaughtered hell of a load of marines or something else worthy Khorne's attention. He had a battle against lets say berzerkers. Khorne don't give a crap about them and would just smile if your lord slaughtered them and gave you a gift for doing it, because those berzerkers were chosens (not rule wise but fluff wise because the chosen aren't that strong in the codex! :P) Nurgle is a god of life. Your lord doesn't have to have mutated if you don't want to. I see chaos as the side that can be whatever it wants. Perhaps your lord got a second life. Or that he can regenerate smaller wounds in the heat of battle. This is what I came up with just now. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178809-gifts-from-the-gods/#findComment-2115569 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Random idea, Nurgle has gifted your lord with unnatural vitality. Apart from giving him higher than Astartes energy levels and durability, it also makes him seem larger than life - e.g. an unexplainable (at least to his men) 'presence'. Rummy
I like both of your idea's and I might use some of them. The Tzeentch idea is kinda what I was thinking aswel and I agree on makeing it so that he is in no way a sorcerer and I think I'll use your Khorne one and as for the two Nurgle Idea's, I like both alot but now I'm not sure which one to use. Both at the same time might be a bit much ! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178809-gifts-from-the-gods/#findComment-2117105 Share on other sites
DooshSahaal
i think perhaps the armour would be better suited as a gift from Nurgle, due to some extra resilience it could offer. say like chitinous plate of some kind rather than just good ol' ceramite armour. and then you could make the gift from slaanesh some kind of big incense burner that he can summon a troupe of slaaneshi daemons from. that seems a bit more slaanesh to me, as opposed to being more agile. Slaanesh seems to be a bit of a spotlight hog, and is all about the spectactle of battle. what better way to please him further than to have his personal daemons on the field? that's just my two bob anyway. btw, i like how this is fluff-based question as opposed to all the gaming gaming gaming that seems to go on among Chaos gamers these days (: -Doosh Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178809-gifts-from-the-gods/#findComment-2117176 Share on other sites
Rummy
You have a point DooshSahaal and I like it.. (Too many good ides guys ).. And now that you mention it your right when it comes to Slaanesh being a spotlight hog. It'll take time to decide which ways to go but for now I must say ye have been a great help and thank you! Zero_Monroe
I am working on something similar, but having each of the sacred numbers represented. For Khorne, he has eight of his toughest won trophies, Nurgle has given him twin plague claws(lightning claws) with weeping wounds and a death mask(the wounds would be three on each palm and the helm for a total of seven), Slaanesh's blessing is either two daemonetts claws or wings for a total of six limbs, and Tzeentch will give him eight scrolls of wisdom and a book of names for nine. A different approach, but a similar beginning. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178809-gifts-from-the-gods/#findComment-2119925 Share on other sites
