waaanial00
First off you really need to use punctuation. Your last post makes next to no sense without sentence breaks. Secondly just because you dont see the tactical viability in using the drop pod in this manner, doesnt mean that there is not one. Why bother to create a thread discussing the tactics behind Drop pods vs Rhinos if you are going to be so closed minded about it? Grey Mage knows what he is doing. Just because a unit cannot shoot to full effect the minute it touches down, doesnt mean that it is a useless gesture. Positioning for a next turn strike is what has been suggested here, this is not a pointless tactic otherwise most Air lists (where positioning is key to success) would not work. Taking his suggestion a step further how about deploying a dreadnought to cover the dev squad, drawing fire and targeting a dangerous target in close proximity? Its a suggestion that might shake up an opponent which is expecting that Dev squad on your list to be deployed on that perfect vantage point, put them with a decent LOS to key points on the battlefield and you may have just thrown your opponents battle plan into disseray. If you are going to the trouble to ask for tactics maybe you should be a little more open to trying them, rather than simply dismissing them out of hand. Otherwise why waste the time in raising the question in the first place. Wan im not closed minded about it. i just think that tactic is kind of a waste.i like putting Spirit Stones on War Walker Squadrons(they already basically come with it).i mean why waste the points every turn of shooting is needed in 40k.i am open minded about drop pod tactics but just not this one.
