Novasry
So I've been toying with the idea of doing an army based on Loken's 10th company, but I'm not sure on the right way to go about it... So far my ideas are doing it fully Mechanised with rhinos and then taking a terminator squad (i.e. the one they used on 63-19) in a Land Raider (the FW kit is smexy as hell :D ) OR going with a fully Drop Pod mounted army, but i hit the point that i hate putting together and painting the Drop Pod models :( I was also thinking of using the new SW codex, as i think it is a bit more pre heresy that the SM codex and i'm not a fan of using the CSM codex and making it all chaosy with marks and crap... so, ideas??? Simonius
In the HH novels they seem to do an awful lot of foot-slogging, we don't see huge amounts of Rhinos, LRs and the like. Drop pods would be my choice for the speartip, in quick at the right place to lop off the enemy's head. Maybe a fair bit of fast attack support too as speed seems to be the key. And yes some termies for those hard to crack nuts. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178872-shaping-the-speartip/#findComment-2116390 Share on other sites

Captain Juan Juarez
With regards to TDA, as far as I am into the series TDA is not mentioned in conjunction with the 10th. It seems only Abaddon's 1st Company has possession of the new suits! As far as I can infer and this is only based upon certain assumptions of my own, the 10th Company seemed to be purely footslogger Tactical squads, with other Company formations possessing Assault Squads (Luc Sedirae) or Devastators (Verulam Moy). Again, that is based upon assumption! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178872-shaping-the-speartip/#findComment-2116497 Share on other sites

I'm aware most of Lokens company is tacticals, so i may bring in some guys from other campanies but i remember they did have a terminator squad which was used on 63-19 to assault the Whisperheads, was lead by Rassek Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178872-shaping-the-speartip/#findComment-2116526 Share on other sites
traitor_dice
well, really it depends on whether you want to do purely Loken's company, or do an a strike force based around his company. Captain Juan Juarez
Ok... Purge me for a heretic! I forgot that one mention of 10th Company Terminators.. So sue me! Ruck
I thought falkus was still 1st company. Abbadon would either lead the justaerien (sp) or let falkus do it if I recall. Falkus Kibre was indeed Captain of the 1st Company Justaerin Terminator Squad. The point the Astartes above was trying to make was that people think the Terminators of Loken's 10th are in face the Justaerin.. That, or like me, they are just totally forgotten! Novasry
Just thought i'de ask, on a related note... How viable is a foot slogging Marine army, i'm not sure it would work too well but might as well get some opinions Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/178872-shaping-the-speartip/#findComment-2118858 Share on other sites
