BDS
When taking Logan Grimnar, Wolf Guard count as troops. I am not questioning whether they can be taken as troops, that is another question. My question is when you attach a WG to a long fang squad and he ends up being the only one alive come turn five can he then hold an objective? Thanks for any clarification, BDS Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179014-troop-questions-when-using-logan-grimnar/ Share on other sites

BDS
K. thanks. I assume this is addressed in the new codex and you have read it. Was kinda hopin to hear the entry, but I will stop in at the local GW to find it next chance I get. Thanks. Thanks for any clarification, BDS That's a very good question. Personally I'd let you do it. Hfran Morkai
It's funny because it doesn't mention it in the Wolf Guard entry with the boxout for pack leaders and it doesn't mention it in Logan's entry either. However I have a feeling that it would not be allowed even though I can't see why. Attaching a Wolf Guard to a squad without taking Logan doesn't prevent it being a scoring unit. FAQ here we come. Logan allows you to take units of Wolf Guard that count as Troops; there are several arguments on other threads as to what this means, and we won't get into that here. Once Wolf Guard are moved from their pack to lead some other pack, then they become a part of the new pack in every way and cannot leave it - they are not Indepedent Characters. If all of the Long Fangs die off, the WGL is still the last surviving member of a non-scoring Long Fangs pack, from Heavy Support. Decoy
Wow, this is the first time I'm ever going to say this; I agree with Valerian from the get-go. The Wolf Guard becomes a member of the pack he's assigned to. Nothing more, nothing less. He literally becomes a member of that squad. The mechanic is the same... as far as I can tell nothing about it has changed. Its also the only way it works that doesnt result in alot of headaches. Vassakov
Yeah, the other lot have got it dead on. He's a member of that pack and that is that. Any other "Clever" readings will result in you being deprived of ale for a month, as you've clearly had to much. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179014-troop-questions-when-using-logan-grimnar/#findComment-2118870 Share on other sites
beatdemskulls
Fellow Wolf brothers, My question was not my attempt to wring any more out of the rules then what is already there, I am trying to circumvent a dodgy question ahead of time.
