Corpse.
Little trip down memory lane I recall that daemon worlds are made and reincarnated in many shapes, forms and backward laws of physics. It lead me to remember that in the 3rd ed rulebook it classed certain worlds as feral, with castles and various other planets like the space wolf planet and a planet where IG recruit from. (Mainly death worlds I assume?) So lets assume one of these worlds are... I can guess you've already made the connection here... One of these worlds being infested with daemons, enveloped by the warp where daemons possess people as well as armor+weapons and here you have a fantasy battle. No worries to the mods, I'm still talking 40k here. We can assume using an army of grots is possible with daemons. Goblins and Daemons at war. Orks with slugga boys and they refuse to fire (or they do shoot and its some sort of magical rock slinga's) and the like. Imagination can run wild here, and all with 40k rules. No need for fantasy card magic and the like. Using weirdboyz and so on to represent their mages and sorcerers. I can imagine that the decay of technology is so decayed that, tanks would be called dragons, with dragon-shaped structures forged onto the tanks to make them look draconic. And also, of course you have imperial guard with magical arrows, and (laughing as I type this) ogres and knights... This version of 40k seems more realistic to me then having some other (ahem, cannons that are measured in football fields rather then miles for range) means. Melee, by psychic weaponry and infested bodies. Heck even tyranids counts-as can represent a perfectly fine daemonic goblin army or hellish horde. Any ideas of what this sort of gaming style should be called and what types of armies can be thought of to represent different tylpes of daemon forces? Of course we can consider zerkers as brass armored wargods infested to the brim with daemons. Takes me back thinking about this. Just sort of makes me laugh how much fantasy still lies in 40k fluff ever since they cut the umbilical cord during rogue trader from fantasy to 40k. antique_nova
very hard since the warp has unlimited incarnations of any object/ creature. Corpse.
Well the original idea I had in mind is that guns can be forgone entirely. Heroes like link with a swing-and-slash the air (anime comes to mind, sinces its prominant in special unreal melee to range attacks). Funny thoughts trink in with slaanesh, dont get me started. (certain players have modelled slaanesh armies with THAT sort of thing around here) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179108-concepts-of-daemon-infestation/#findComment-2119859 Share on other sites
