Anyone else notice the Powerfists on Wolf Guard?

Nothing stopping a Space Marine Sergeant taking two, but that's 50 points of upgrades there. The "may replace his bolter and/or chainsword" means he can take two of the same if they so wish.

As far as I'm aware at least.

Yeah, it's a pain of an upgrade, but I might actually put one in my army, just for the sheer modeling opportunities. Really, a Wolf Guard with two powerfists, one wrapped around a Tyranid's throat, the other pummeling it's face into a fine pulp. Or the Guard hefting an Eldar Vyper over his head, tearing it in half.

Hehehe..... I'm giddy about this dex, if only for the conversion options.

Toaster, the only way you can get an extra CC attack with a Powerfist now is if you have two Powerfists. It's not USEless, but it may very well be points-inefficient.

Then again, the one time you need that extra attack...

*shrug*

Interesting, one way or another.

No. If points were no issue, taking two powerfists is the only way to get the +1 bonus for two combat weapons (so a Sergeant dual-wielding power fists is 2 base, + 1 for extra hand weapon).

PS Damn you Decoy,...beat me to it :cuss

i understand that fact. and my useless comment was about the wasted points that can go else where to me more useful. granted having the extra attacks is not a total waste of points, it is how ever better used to say purchase a melta gun, or a plasma gun, or a pair of extra storm bolters on a rhino.

Muahahaha! Like the Wolf, I am in, strike, and out in a flash of lightning!

Maybe next time, DV. :cuss

There are those of us who don't use tanks, and who eschew ranged weaponry. I know that the only antitank in my upcoming army will be Thunderhammers, Powerfists, Meltabombs, or Lascannons, all on infantry.

The dual-powerfist, if I can afford it, is an option I will probably be taking, actually. Nothing says "I HURT YOU NOW!" like eight Powerfist attacks from one squad, and not a special character in any way.

i agree with that. but i prefer the "I HURT YOU NOW!" from ragnar, in a G pack with a MoW, PW and his own gruesome nastiness of eatery. and my real only AT is my LF pack with two las 1 missile. the rest of the LF is AP (2 HB or the missile if i need it). other then that the rest of my heavy weaponry is anti-transport (autocannons on my dread). scouts have a multi purpose job (MG with MBs). which all fits the meta of where i play, which is where we are differing

Hmm, I may have to nick that idea Decoy as it is a conversion that must be done and nothing says 'Thats going to leave a mark' like two power fists to the head!

Who cares if its points ineffcient? Wolf Guard Bob SMASH!!

But how do you drink ale with two power fists?

Cheers

Thorgrim

A pink curly straw, even. I mean, really. Who'd dare say anything to someone who can rip apart a Land Raider with his hands? More importantly, what would you say? "Hey! Pinky! Nice straw!"? You'd get clobbered.

If i was wearing 2 wolfclaws, id do that, how else do i get that straw to drink the beer :P
