Got a codex clarification issue?

13th Company will be treated like the new Squats. "Please stop talking about them at every Q&A. They got eaten by Chaos Tyranids in the Eye"

And Phil Kelly came across like a complete doofus in the designer notes and battle report in this month's White Dwarf

I've got two to add to the list. I think we've settled these issues internally to the forum, but might as well ask if you have the chance:

1. Does a Wolf Scout Pack still get to operate Behind Enemy Lines when a Wolf Guard is attached as pack leader? The assumption is yes, but it is not explicitly stated, which would be nice to have when playing against certain opponents.

2. Was it intended for a model with Saga of the Hunter to be able to operate with Wolf Scouts Behind Enemy Lines? If so, that too was not clearly expressed, so for now if you attach him to a Scout unit they have to forfiet BEL, but can still Outflank as normal. Is this how it was "supposed" to be.

If I think of others I will edit and add to this list.

Valerian

1. Wolf Guard is not an independent character...so why would the scouts loose trier abilities?

2. See Page 48 of rule book.

Oh, I agree, but there are others who have brought it to question. So, if he gets the chance to ask Phil, why not go ahead and ask?

V

Bjorn and the WTT. Why? He has a 5+ Invulnerable anyway. So any Pyschic Shooting attack he might be eligable to take is already covered by that

Bjorn will receive both.

The WTT will be as the power hits before rolls are made to see if the power has any effect. Then the 5+ save will be useable if the power glances or pens.

No need to plague the man with question simply answered by the rules.

Sorry guys great idea and all but I cant get the image of that scene from the Simpsons out of my head. The one when Xena gets quizzed by fans at a convention right before she gets kidnapped by the Collector! Hmmm does anyone have a basement, 10 yard of rope and a pair of socks?

I have some rules clarifications:

1.) Does Logan Grimnar's rule that "WG count as Troops" mean:

- They are now scoring untis, but remain Elites choices

- They are now Troop choices instead of Elites and thus can score

2.) A Rune Priest casting Jaws of the World Wolf, does it have to make an I test also?

Above two question 'just to be sure' because they are perhaps the most debated questions and they are brought up by every person, who reads the codex first time and/or is a rules lawyer.

3.) The Lone Wolf rule Pack of One states that he is always a "one-man unit that can never join or be joined by other models". Does this rule prohibit a Lone Wolf from taking Fenrisian Wolves as wargear as they are seperate models?

4.) Skyclaws can have Mark of the Wulfen, but Bloodclaws and Swiftclaws can not. Is this an oversight or deliberate? If later then why? As in fluff Skyclaws and Swiftclaws are also Bloodclaws.

And something else:

5.) Why do the Wolf Guard units have so expensive wargear?

You can't ever have two saving throws.

Good thing the one isnt a saving throw ;)

If you are playing for VP's. How do you score a Wolf guard pack? do you re assign the WG back to the squad at the end and see who's left or do you keep them with the squad? if the last memeber of the squad is the WGL does the opponent get the full VP's or 1/2 for the squad?

Does that make sense?

On some tournaments there is quite different treatment for victory points battles. for killing a troop choice you will get 1 kp, for FA and ELITE you get 2 and for HQ you get 3. Quite a good idea having those packs in troops isn't it? :-)
Seeing they wanted a really fluffy and Space Wolfish codex, please do ask him why they choose not to represent the Wulfen more than the old "mark of" a wulfen unit or some MotW models would've been nice...one can still use the old 13th but still...

Yes that , i see no reason why they didnt make a 0-1 wulfen unit just to make us old wolves that have the old model or wants to play with them happy......

1. You answered your own question by asking it.

2. Seriously? <_<

3. ITS AN UPGRADE HE CAN TAKE....so why are you even asking this?

4. Valid question, even I have been wondering.

13th company and Wulfen is something rather new...maybe thats why?

Question 1 & 2 are exactly because of Rules Lawyers and Crybabies, who like to bicker about everything. If we can get an official ruling on those rules, then those people can shut up.

I feel sorry for Mr. Kelly if I get close to him, I'll do my best to ask the most sensible questions from the list but I can't answer everything as I'm not the only one who will want his attention and I'm sure he has better things to do.

I might have to offer him a drink for even bothering to listen

Ahhh now i see your reasoning.
