Brother Amarel
ohhhhhhhh wow thats cool thanks guys! ill have to get that too! Yeah it's a pretty good deal, especially as it's RRP is £50 ( a little less than the IG Battleforce, for example). Yeah it's a pretty good deal, especially as it's RRP is £50 ( a little less than the IG Battleforce, for example). For those in the USA it's $90. Funny thing about the price, I was looking at WD issue 246 that came out in June or July 2000 and the price of the SW battleforce back then was $89.99. So in 9 years only a .01 increase in price. Not too shabby. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179545-battleforce/#findComment-2125011 Share on other sites
Growler67
That site is also showing it as an "Advanced Order" as it shows with all the Space Wolf stuff. The BattleForce just doesn't have a picture listed. Contents are as mentioned above. rodgers37
I guess GW are leaving it off the site until after next saturday, even though it is this months WD (octobers anyway, but its out already :S ) with images.... dublindawg
Did anyone else notice that in the WD they mention the newest bits is a classic SW spruce. It says that it is available now but I cannot locate it on the site. It could be that they mean 10/1 but all the other stuff avail in October has a release date listed. It was available on the GW website yesterday (direct order only), but is gone today - likely a release schedule thing (don't want people buying that thinking that they've got the latest sprue). Grimmwulf
I have no drop pods and i usually like to field rhinos, but i still want to get the battleforce. I was thinking about mixing mech and drop. Do you guys think it would work to have only one drop pod in a list? or should i get a second one? Or is it a stupid idea to mix? I generally really like the idea of drop podding wolves but on the other hand i am a little concerned that it takes many dropping units to be really effective. I generally really like the idea of drop podding wolves but on the other hand i am a little concerned that it takes many dropping units to be really effective. I was talking with a local GW employee and he told me an army should either use zero, one, or an all drop pod force. Probably due to how these units enter the battlefield and if you have more than one drop pod coming in you may have alot of your force not on the field at a time. Making it easier for your opponent to take em out before your help arrives. But this all depends on your style of play. I am going to buy the battleforce because every once in awhile i want to drop pod a termie unit in. ChapniK
If your going mech and pods 1or 3 or even 5 are the magic numbers. But i find that 3 iis the best 3 you get both your MM dreads on the field to threaten the enemy's armour. Now on his turn he will have to decide to kill the dreads, ignore them or split his fire. What great about 3 is you get to keep that squad of GH hunters safe for longer plus they can be where you need them when you need them. Also you could always have an empty pod, with we will go with GH for the example footslogging across the field or stay home. Now if your really sneky you get the rhino from long fangs to give them a ride or you get a land raider Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179545-battleforce/#findComment-2125487 Share on other sites
spectre312
The odd numbers win. I field either 1 dread, or 3 with 2 dread pods. my mythical third pod used to be the 4 Assault cannon deathsquad of awesome... Have to rethink it for the new dex. Honestly, my thoughts on drop pods are this... if you field less than all all drop pod list, expect what you drop one turn one to die. If you drop anything in amongst the enemy that's really a threat, they are going to pour fire into it. But, think of just how many shots that dread (or squad) is taking instead of your rhino's that are charging up the field. Especially awesome against some of the shootier armies. And like Chapnik says, drop pod 3 is essentially your exclimation point. Hammer it home on an objective,or use it to smash the last solid defense of your enemy. arkel
Is a codex included in the BF box? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179545-battleforce/#findComment-2125771 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
Is a codex included in the BF box? Nope but considering the price you get a "free" drop pod so it's a good buy even if you don't want it because you could sell it or trade it.
