hwd
I've decided to enter a competition on another site that calls for entries of anything that can fit on a 60mm base or smaller. With the pending release of the new Space Wolf codex I'm hooked on the idea of lone wolves and have decided that I must have one for my army. These two became combined in my mind and so I'm making a small diorama of a Lone Wolf and his latest kill. I've made a start this evening and have got this far; I've chopped up the legs and pinned them back together in a new position and started thinking about other components; http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Lone%20Wolf/1%20-%2024%2009%2009/IMG_2048.jpg It's mostly bluetacked together at the moment. Eventually he will have a shield on his other arm which will be up and holding the head of the Ork Nob he has just decapitated. This shows a very very rough mock up of the diorama; http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Lone%20Wolf/1%20-%2024%2009%2009/IMG_2053.jpg He will be stepping on the prone Nob's body whilst his wolf starts to eat the Ork's leg. For gaming he will come off this base and onto a smaller one. Clearly there is a long way for me to go but every journey starts with a single step and all that... Comments etc welcome as ever Hwd Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/ Share on other sites
cathar the great
I think you need to repose the right leg. I don't know if it is just the angle, but he looks like he would fall over any second. I would move it forward a little and make him a bit more hunched, if you know what I mean. But a picture from the side might prove me wrong ^^ Anyway, a great start, I'm looking forward to seeing more! hwd
I see what you mean, it does look a little odd in this picture. I'm sure when I put it together it didn't look like he would fall over... I'll have another look and take some better piccies tomorrow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/#findComment-2125214 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
I agree about the right leg; it should be further out and should be straight. Otherwise, looking good. hwd
I got a bit more work done this weekend on this little project of mine. Mostly it was the beginning of cutting and re-posing the Non such that he looks dead rather than trying to walk while lying down! No pictures though as its not that exciting I also re-worked the lone wolf's leg so it doesn't look like he is falling over. It still looks 'off' from certain angles but looks better from the main (front-side) angle. Hoprefully it will look better and make more sense once the whole think starts to come together more! I do need HELP though... I'm struggling to find a suitable left arm. I'm after a heavily muscled human arm that is raised up... I've tried the marauder and marauder horsemen sprues but nothing, i've tried the flagellant sprues but they are far too weedy Does anybody have a suggestion? Without this I'll probably have to re-imagine the pose... Help please! Emperor's Scourge
Perhaps Khârn's? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/#findComment-2127822 Share on other sites
Beornling 3.1415
Needs beer! purhaps the leg could be crushing a spent one? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/#findComment-2127838 Share on other sites
Seleucus
Perhaps a Catachan arm would work? They are also bulkier than the marauders - more fitting for a superhuman! There's a couple in the command box that might work. hwd
Sorry for the majopr threadomancy but i'm back on this project for a bit now! I've made some progress on the marine with some green stuffing and some slight pose changes. I've also been thinking about fenrisian wolves and have painted this fella as a paint test type... http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Space%20Wolves/Paint%20Test/wolf0001.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Space%20Wolves/Paint%20Test/wolf0006.jpg I'll get photos of the progress of the lone wolf himself later today or tomorrow and will update when I do! hwd
No comments? Never mind I have some updates! As I primomised a while ago the Lone Wolf asd he stands at the moment http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Space%20Wolves/two/0001.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/hwd48/Space%20Wolves/two/0002.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/#findComment-2368772 Share on other sites
Telliphas
The shaggy mane looks good on the wolf, but I think the white skin tone needs a tad more colour. It's bright but looks a little to pale at the moment, some shading should add definition to it. Like the pose of the Lone wolf, not so sure about the arm holding the Ork head though, I'd use a normal arm rather than a bare arm. Sorry to pick out these things. Race Bannon
Ok, where did the dogs come from? Or that axe? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179567-lone-wolf-diorama/#findComment-2368960 Share on other sites
hwd
Dogs are Chaos Warhounds with chaosy spikes and scales scraped off and new green stuff ears without tentacles etc etc... The axe is from the Marauder Horsemen command frame. As soon as a saw it I knew exactly where it would end up. Again it has undegone a de-chaosification process to revmove unnecessary spikes.
