How old is ragnar when he got the black carapace, because i seem to remeber that on lex it says that after the geneseed goes in the rest of the implants go in in a series of years.... but he got them all pretty fast. Also is there a way to check replies to your topics at the press of a button like on Tau online?

I don't think we get an actual answer on how old he is. He is old enough to b e carousing and drinking with the elders.

The space wolves novels mentions that he had just passed the age of manhood for his tribe/fenrisian and if im not mistaken he mention growing a beard. Lastly he is old enough to have done it with the girl he loved before being chosen by Ulrik/ranek. so with all this information 15-18 would be my guess

Ragnar mentions in the first book most of the elders are around 35 years old. Life is harsh on Fenris. I'd say acceptance into manhood would be something like 16. Maybe younger.

The first implants are made when the initiate is between 10-12 years old, and the last (the Black Carapace) is implanted from 16-18 years of age. I'm sure Ragnar's age was within this range, just like every other Space Marine.

It really depends upon the planet and the chapter as far as ages go. It's technically possible (in GDub background, not RL, obviously) to start the processes that turn a human into a space marine as young as you want, and I would guess in the case of the Grey Knights and prolly the Adeptus Custodes (who might as well be space marines, from everything I've ever read about them) that they start just after birth, to ensure proper levels of martial training and purity. However, Pre-Heresy, Luther was elevated to nearly the level of a space marine somewhere in the age range of 35-45.

 

On Fenris, I would suppose, given the harsh conditions and high death rate, one might be considered a man at age 12-13, but maybe as low as 10. In the backgrounds of certain deathworlds, it does say that the harshness of life has sort of accelerated human development, but to my knowledge this has never been said about our Chapter's homeworld.

Don't forget that Ragnar was chosen by Ranek (or Ulrik) after being mortally wounded in a battle where he berserked dozens of enemies. I can't really imagine a 12-years-old berserk taking down dozens of battle-hardened vikings. So I say he should be about 16-18.

he actually says that the oldest of the elders/greybeard are 35
